Trying to upload my music catalog to my phone is like pulling teeth. It has the space for it, but I feel it shouldn't take three hours for ~300GB of music across USB3 and randomly fail about an hour in.

The temptation of getting a dedicated music player is rising.

While I might not have picked up a southern accent from growing up in the South, I do have the dialect.

Under certain scenarios I end up with a Texan accent despite never having lived there, and then I learn who all moved from Texas because they get real excited that I sound like them and want to know what town I'm from.

I'm kind of known for having fire fwingers - holding very hot things doesn't burn them. Testing if a dish is actually hot when a server says it is always gets me chided by puppywife.

I accidentally found the limit of my heat tolerance today while working with a hot air pencil. A small blister is far better than what I probably should've gotten for solidly touching 800°F (426°C, 231°Rø) metal for at least a full second, but I'd like to not do that again.

I had one wish for the Zelda Direct, and Nintendo pulled through. Now I've gotta wait to see what the US tour dates are for the orchestra concert! I got to see the Symphony of the Goddesses tour when that was a thing a decade ago, so I'm excited for this one!

Just a couple days until surgery! Which is good because the new supplier of spiro my pharmacy uses seems to be far less effective at its job than the previous supplier. I'll be glad to not need that any longer!

Got one more pre-op appointment tomorrow, but everything they've asked for is done and approved so shouldn't be any last-second issues.

I swear to chirp the next person I see complain about the shitty ways the Bluesky community is to trans folk / furries / kinks /whatever (and not in a "I'm glad the Fediverse isn't like that" kind of way) I'm gonna start getting the block hammer out.

If the community's way to handle things is rightfully bothering you, then why are you spending time in that garbage dump and dragging the rotten remains over to here? Bringing it up in the community that has nothing to do with it fixes nothing and just drags shitty opinions over that're best left in the cesspool that's algorithm-hell social media.

Incredible timing at deciding I need a pocket watch (no electronics allowed in an area I work) - Turns out Swatch released a new one this weekend, and it's significantly cheaper than the others I'd been contemplating.

Now I just have to wait for the initial rush to die down so I can snag one!

Had a fun dream last night being a shape-shifting fox! And that makes the work day much better by default, even if I don't get to keep the shape-shifting power.

Had to do a cognitive test for giving consent to my surgery coming up at the end of the month. Just need to survive a few more long weeks at work!

I can also now confirm I'm at least as "smart" as the current president of the United States.

There's something special to having a lot of the management worried about how the two months I'm missing will go for them. We've trained up all the folk we could, figured out a couple successors to pass things off to, got the area started a new workflow that I'd been working on making reality for years, and now we don't get to see how it handles in implementation. Guess this forces me to learn to be wings-off of my work.
The real reason they're worried is I have one of the biggest slices of the job, and no one (nor several someones) there can easily fill what we do. They'll be fine, the place existed before me and will after we leave someday too.

But also, since I started working jobs 20ish years ago, I've never been free from work for more than two weeks. Two months of not working is going to be heccing weird.
