Also, having worked in the insurance industry for decades. Reckless isn’t just a state of mind, it gets people killed. The actuarial tables are pretty clear on this: women assess risk better than men. (If your definition of “better” is not getting injured, killed, or harming others.)

@codemonkeymike but if Apple can remove the lock then surely it’s equally possible that someone else could too which would sort of defeat the purpose, wouldn’t it?
Certainly, I would agree that if a person goes through the steps to wipe the machine to give it away or sell then that process should absolutely remove all of the security locks from the machine.

@eddycrosby@mastodon.social I can find no trace that it ever aired in the UK and some anecdotal commentary that it never did. Strangely, it does appear to have aired in Australia.
We don’t have that information from direct broadcast listings or sales records, but we do have evidence that Korg 70,000 BC tie in merchandise such as board games were sold in Australia, which implies, but doesn’t prove, that there was knowledge of the program there.

From the old man "if you can't beat them, join them" department: You know "the kidz these days" don't know how to fucking edit video to hide the cuts and they just chop out the gaps and leave the jump cuts on a talking head?
Yeah, I bought software to do that. It's called Recut, and it just chops out pauses in the audio, leaving a jumpy, but hip (apparently) video that hops around just like The Kidz Do.
Makes it really easy to hide miffed takes, though. Looks like its on purpose.

@nicolas17 @codemonkeymike OK, that makes a little more sense. I’ve wiped and sold a couple T2 equipped Macs and not had problems, but I can see how that might go wrong (for example, if there was no Internet access while wiping the machine.)
For years I’ve been looking at various still photos from the Dalek Masterplan and I always assumed Mavic Chen was another of the wacky aliens featured in the collection.
I had no idea he was in yellow face. The makeup is THAT bad. #eek
