The massive heat waves we're seeing around the world more extreme and frequent due to human-caused #climatechange. And these heat waves are going to continue to worsen because of our failure to reduce carbon pollution. Just one of the many costs of #climate change. @petergleick@fediscience.org Don't worry, the collapse of the Atlantic overturning current will cool them down..... /s

This was discussed by the Citizens Coinage Advisory Committee (CCAC) and the conversation was featured on the Mint's official YouTube channel. In it, members of the non-partisan design committee were critical of the idea, with acting chair Donald Scarinci saying: "Only those nations ruled by kings or dictators display the image of their sitting ruler on the coins of the realm." Now, Marisa Kabas of the Handbasket says the video has been taken down. "The larger message is loud and clear: Dissent will not be tolerated," she writes.</p><p><a href="https://flip.it/N_i6_v" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">flip.it/N_i6_v</span><span class="invisible"></span></a></p><p><a href="https://flipboard.social/tags/USNews" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>USNews</span></a> <a href="https://flipboard.social/tags/TrumpAdministration" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>TrumpAdministration</span></a> <a href="https://flipboard.social/tags/DonaldTrump" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>DonaldTrump</span></a> <a href="https://flipboard.social/tags/USMint" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>USMint</span></a></p> @NewsDesk fuck Flipboard, why can't I get a clean link to the source?

Open post $8Troll @Littlebobbytables@mstdn.social · 6mo ago Replying to @gizmomathboy@mastodon.xyz @mekkaokereke@hachyderm.io my dream vehicle/form factor is an electric Kei truck with a bed that can just hold a full sheet of plywood. Small enough to commute to work as needed but can carry the home owner/woodworking hobby stuff I want I don't need it to haul a yard of mulch or whatever. Just me, a passenger, and some stuff in the bed as needed I didn't need a Sherman tank sized vehicle for that @gizmomathboy@mastodon.xyz @mekkaokereke@hachyderm.io My Pilot takes a full sheet too. During COVID my son put a rack on his Subaru Impreza and in one trip hauled everything to build a 10'x18' climbing wall.

Open post $8Troll @Littlebobbytables@mstdn.social · 1mo ago Replying to @dansup@mastodon.social I will admit, I did get a bit carried away with @pixelfed@mastodon.social features over the years. Collections, DMs, Ephemeral Stories, Filters, Groups and Portfolios were all started with good intentions, but without the continued focus and stability they deserve. Once I get caught up with bug fixes and making the core features more solid, they are up next! No new features will be added until the platform is as rock solid as Loops is 😉 #pixelfed #loops #activitypub #fediverse @dansup@mastodon.social @pixelfed@mastodon.social Is there an 'import from flickr' script?
