I just started reading this cookbook on Kobo, and it's SO GOOD. The humor catches you by surprise around every corner -- I'm honestly not used to breaking out openly laughing every other page -- and the comfy, personal tone makes it feel like chatting with a good friend about their cooking experiments. Hey, can anyone identify this? I think it's some sort of gall, and i think it's on an alder. It's heavy, about the size of my fist, and on the ends of branches or at joins, and there are several on one tree and more in a nearby tree. Any thoughts?

Spent the day overhauling the first novella I self published, Fallen City. It's been needing an update for a while now, time for a second edition with better back cover copy and whatnot. Feels real nice to get back into this sort of work. Falls between the agony of writing and the frustration of typesetting.

So let me get this right. One officer in a vest was shot and is recovering. Nobody was killed. Shooter did not even get into the ballroom, let alone close enough at try for a shot at Trump. There was no attempt at subterfuge, he just charged in openly.

... and this is such a horrific security breach as to justify building an egotistical golden ballroom? Really? Well, what do the various schools with dead kids and teachers get, then...?

EDIT: wait, am I seeing this right? He shot at a MACHINE, and didn't even get to the same fucking FLOOR as the president? Seriously?

@deborahh I'd suggest watching out for local pollutants before dropping seeds. Areas with a lot of traffic, car or foot, will be very unfriendly for germination and growing. Areas frequently sprayed with herbicides, flood prone, salt build up (road salt or runoff from fertilizer). Places that used to be/ are near chemical/ waste heavy spots (oil change, mechanic shop, restaurants, more) Not trying to be negative! Just don't want you to waste effort. Seed bombs are great, but work best in areas already friendly to growth. Most barren spots are barren for a reason; if I'm reading the OP right, that's what you're focused on. If I missed something, or if I'm saying something you've already factored in, I'm sorry; I can get opinionated sometimes. :) don't let me discourage you!

Okay so, by way of contrast, here's the existing ad copythat I was trying to improve. Is this already good? I was nervous about this version, thus the attempt at the more abstract in the op. A book almost twenty years in the making, Lies of Stone takes up some years after the Children of the Desert series ended, as the historical separation between the desert southlands and the lush northlands erodes. The Northern Church, thrown from power, is not taking their fall from the king’s favor well, the king himself is struggling to manage the chaos he’s inherited, and the desert Families are being forced to reinvent themselves in a world no longer ruled by the ha’reye and ha’ra’hain. I don't mind sweating from working outdoors. I'm less fond of, but still okay with, menopause night sweats. Both cycling so I don't get a break day or night, I am categorically opposed to. SO. ANNOYING.
