It's the goal.
For example, all those new laws for age verification are to prevent you from using an operating system or ROM that cannot be minored or controlled. Blocking reCAPTCHA on a non-approved, non-certified government and corporate sanctioned devices is just 1 piece of the big picture.
For example, the USA has made any new router not made in the USA illegal to import or sell. They can apply for an exception if they agree to include their new control chip or firmware.
The fact that MAGA is having a Yes Kings protest is the ultimate plot twist in this madhouse, proving that we’ve finally completed the 360-degree pivot from "Don't Tread on Me" to "Please Step on Me, Your Majesty." 🤦

A few trolls started to chime in because I pointed out their "friend" was a scammer elsewhere.
The usually trolling begins, but at some point they start to think I am a bot. They even debate each other about it.
It is a amusing (or at least I think so).

For a new user, Debian is not that OS that is ready to use upon a fresh install. You're going to have to configure things manually and install many other things, adding 3rd-party repos.
For example, sudo is not even enabled upon install. Debian themselves don't supply truly working non-free media codecs or firmware, so I suggest https://deb-multimedia.org
(think of it as Fedora's RPM Fusion repo).
And as pointed out, yes, a lot of old software. Stable, yes, but old.

They will, depending on need, release a device with GrapheneOS — or delay it — and work closely with you to identify the methods and vulnerabilities you discover, as well as how you implement features to overcome the planned “new normal,” so that, behind the scenes, they can undermine and circumvent your work in the future. The investment — which includes you — is intended to strengthen relations and acquire additional contracts. 😭

So it took much of the Fediverse to threaten to cut off all ties, and numinous complaints for months, for them to finally post anything.
A little to late, don't you think? But I wish them well.
They should aim for 4.6.x in the future so they don't end up behind, again. And honestly, if you cannot update your site at least 2x a year, perhaps they shouldn't run one.

Their lack of moderation has made Mastodon.cloud everyone else's problem since spammers and scammers join Mastodon.cloud and harass people everywhere else.
NO, Mastodon.cloud management or lack of management is not the norm. If it where, people would not be singling out Mastodon.cloud.

The amount of spam and nonsense people have been receiving from Mastodon.cloud has continued for nearly a year.
Meanwhile, your site is so out of date that if you blocked my account @warning I could still tag you and message you.
It’s not a bandwidth issue — it’s truly their GoPro camera.
Every once in a while, they cut to show the view inside the spacecraft, and I can see the crew in true HD. But then they cut to the Moon, and it looks like an upscale from 1972.
It’s the f-cking GoPro. Why would you rely on a retail GoPro to stream back to Earth from the Moon for the first time in 54 years?!

Check their TOS (terms of services). You will see they cite only two countries: Switzerland and the United States.
They fall under U.S. Justification, but their TOS tries to claim they're primarily Switzerland.

Now, before anyone tells me I’m wrong — that the Fediverse hates AI, so obviously no one here is using it — I work for Meta, and many of the photos I see there, I see here too.
If you’re trying to escape AI photos, I don’t know where you’d go for that.
That said, while that number seems high, know that it’s much higher elsewhere. So the Fediverse does do better — but not as much better as you might imagine.
