#tcrno12 : While Robin Gemperle rushed all night to win the race in 10 days and 9 hours - which definitely is an outstanding performance - Bryn Thomas ( #tcrcap319 ) rested the last 10 hours on Orust island in #Sweden . Must be a beautiful place.

At #tcrno12 I am mostly following Bryn Thomas ( #tcrcap319 ) who is still in #Norway after 1133 km. Big cheers to her!

Flatlands - Day 13: Lille -> Péruwelz (55 km)

After a day off in #Lille ,we headed back to #Belgium ,this time to #Wallonia .Unfortunately, when planning our route,I hadn’t realized that it rans for several kilometers along the cobblestone section of the famous “Paris-Roubaix” cycling race. Now I know why it’s also called “Hell of the North” ("l'enfer du Nord").

Flatlands - Day 17: Namur -> Huy (34 km)

After a day off in Namur we had today a short ride in the heat, with spectacular views, by just following the excellent cycle path along the #Meuse river.

Flatlands - Day 14: Péruwelz -> La Louvière (50 km)

Mostly along the canal and mostly sunny. Just before the destination, there’s the famous and incredible #ship elevator.

Flatlands - Day 16: Charleroi -> Namur (49 km)

The blazing #sun (in #Belgium !) didn’t bother us after many cold, rainy days. On the other hand, the #pollution of the #Sambre river, which we followed today, is alarming: a brown sludge with plenty of #plastic #waste floating on top. What are the #political authorities doing about it?

Flatlands - Day 1: Kaarst -> Duisburg (42 km).

New cycling adventure: instead of the #Bavarian tour we had originally planned, we started today a tour through what are probably the flattest regions in #Europe .

Flatlands - Day 15: La Louvière -> Charleroi (32 km)

A short and lazy stage on a perfect cycle path, in full sun and a surprisingly beautiful landscape.

Most commentators on #Trump 's Saudi nuclear deal overlook a very important point: #SaudiArabia is already under #Pakistan ’s #nuclear umbrella and does not necessarily need its own uranium enrichment facilities to build the atomic bomb. This would be a bonus in the face of the Iranian threat, but not at just any political cost.

I am testing the free #Proton #VPN to check if a paid subscription may be a good idea. Its application now says for the third time in a row that I am connected to a server which I selected to be in the #Netherlands while several websites such as WhatIsMyIPAddress locate my IP address in #Switzerland ,and others list everything in Swiss Francs, not in #Euro ,which means they locate me in Switzerland as well. Is this a common issue with Proton? Can such a service be trusted?

LibreOffice now in conflict with Collabora, while OnlyOffice, which seems to be more Russian than Latvian, in legal conflict with Nextcloud and the new EuroOffice? Bad news for the entire FOSS world. Well, I guess I will just stick to CryptPad and Markdown.

@odoruhako@mastodon.social P.S.: The ultimate explanation is, of course, political: limited ressources, i.e. lack of state subsidies, have forced national railways companies to prioritize. SNCF clearly did not modernize enough its online system, it's even getting worse and more bureaucratic.In Germany, the online system of Deutsche Bahn is much better,but trains are running late more often than not because of a lack of investment in infrastructure.Small countries (Switzerland, Austria, Netherland...) do better.

@haraldkliems@fosstodon.org @mjaschen@social.tchncs.de @bikerouter@en.osm.town It's not minimum/maximum dots as for any given distance there are always 6 such dots. But I don't know yet neither what they mean. Hopefully, @mjaschen@mastodon.social will tell us.

@odoruhako@mastodon.social In France, the regulations for local trains (TER) depend on each regional authority, in your case on Nouvelle Aquitaine. You must purchase a reservation ticket for your bike (3€) here: https://naq.ter.veloabord.fr/

@odoruhako@mastodon.social France is less centralized than one might think. Since the early 1980s four waves of so-called decentralisation laws have shaped a quite different set, and since 2003 Article 1 of the Constitution of the French Fifth Republic even states that "its organisation is decentralised". The growing complexity of the railway reservation system lies rather with SNCF which gets more and more bureaucratic in many fields - for instance also in refunding tickets for trains running late.

@maryjane@social.coletivos.org As quoted above: "The CryptPad Document, Presentation & Spreadsheet applications are an OnlyOffice Docs integration. However, this only concerns the client-side code, CryptPad does not make use of the OnlyOffice Document Server. CryptPad's encrypted collaboration, used for document, presentantion & spreadsheets and other applications, is completely different from the encryption system used in parts of upstream OnlyOffice." Do you have a better alternative? Maybe Proton Docs?
