Mangrove forests are recovering! 🌳 👀
They 'store up to five times more carbon dioxide than land-based forests'
We at Mastodon.green has made a modest contribution to that by planting 37000 mangrove trees.

As you may know, mangrove forests are very important for local ecosystems and the climate
We celebrate the positive news of them healing :flan_cheer: :abunhdhappyhop:
🚧 Heads up. Mastodon.green is also going to de-federate from mastodon.cloud, by the end of this month.

@ObsidianUrbex@mstdn.social Looks like you've been booping a very famous machine there 😮 Have you seen the music video 'Bagger 288!' from Rathergood?
Do you have any thoughts on this?

@jpetazzo @david_chisnall You're right. There's a reason railways aren't already reaching all destinations.
That's why electric trucks are a perfect complement to rail freight.
It's even possible to reduce battery size by letting trucks charge with overhead wires.

Could you perhaps point to any instructions on how to place some puma processes on a separate machine?

@cas Sociocracy 3.0 or Holacracy could potentially be options. The latter seemingly could solve the hijacking and drifting issues. I don't have the experience you ask for, it's just that I too contemplated how to delegate responsibility in a volunteer FOSS project.

@amble Aha, hmm, complicated topic. Thanks for the explanation.
Well, let's see if Creative Commons release updated versions of their licenses to deal with this.
@Broadfork Wow, do we need to do something?

@alberto_cottica@mastodon.green No, it's not up and running. That's the wait and see part.
I've noticed how infosec.exchange created a second server to solve the federation dilemma. Their original server has 15 k users and the other, infosec.space, has fewer than 100 users. We can observe how that develops over the next few months.
From my point of view there isn't any rush to create a second server. Meta isn't even fully federated yet. It's one way as far as I understand it.

@alberto_cottica@mastodon.green I wish I could send a poll to all active users and ask properly, but Mastodon doesn't have such a feature. So far there are more people following others on Threads than people voicing their opinion to block them.
