@Richard_Littler@mastodon.social There was a time I didn't see how Klingon society could possibly function. Now I think you might need to be a bit more like the Klingons to avoid our current situation.

@yurisizov@mastodon.gamedev.place I find it hard to believe that someone would have been satisfied at this and call their creation complete.

@SteveClough@metalhead.club @soph@grrl.me Medium sized businesses onwards are still on business / enterprise plans. I know I hit my 100% (which we have no reason to stop at) by asking Opus-4.7 5 things (in a month). At some point I'm sure this will change and we'll simply use deepseek locally (or whatever is better at the time) and never pay another dime for cloud based AI.

@Starfia@mastodon.social I'll just post examples. My work has public-facing chatbots and they are not yet even considering these bills.

@skyfaller Can you cut to the chase, because it seems you need to do this immediately.

@pheonix@hachyderm.io What is the main reason you value the 'real content' in this case? Personally, I want to see quality content, and inherently I don't care what tools were used to make it.

@lowqualityfacts@mstdn.social Twice the population in Japan soon due to the decline in birth rates

@arstechnica That's a potential 2% increase to US emissions.

@LukaszOlejnik Japanese vehicles infiltrated our garages. German meats infiltrated our stomachs. Latin etymology infiltrated our language.

@jasongorman@mastodon.cloud Spin up a lot of agents and you can use a Sr Engineer's yearly wage in days.

@yurisizov@mastodon.gamedev.place The idea that everything that already exists is pure and complete and perfect and new things are to be shunned and hated isn't a new one, but it is a bad opinion to have. There's some objective problems with the tech they showed off, and some imagined ones by the community, unfortunately. I probably wouldn't call it 'good enough' to get the DLSS title, but I also think it is objectively improving the fidelity 80% of the time.

@Starfia@mastodon.social The only place I've seen people worrying about this is in the open source AI community.

@joshg@mathstodon.xyz @yurisizov@mastodon.gamedev.place There is objective truth here. Correct lighting is better, anti-aliasing is better, correct shadows are better, and lighting that illuminates polygons correctly is better. No artist intended these incomplete aspects of real time 3d game graphics. These are objectively more complete, and to not have them is incomplete.

@joshg@mathstodon.xyz @yurisizov@mastodon.gamedev.place You should take a step back and look at the mental gymnastics you're doing to hate a specific piece of graphics rendering technology and how it's making you behave.

@ftranschel@norden.social @SteveClough@metalhead.club @soph@grrl.me That's American exceptionalism (in that it is spread by American propagandists and regulatory capture efforts, and doesn't reflect reality). China has proven they don't need anything of the sort. Just look at Seedance 2, far above OpenAI and Google's capabilities, and it's months older than Google's new pathetic Omni video model.

@ftranschel@norden.social @SteveClough@metalhead.club @soph@grrl.me This is just goalpost moving and if it 'wasn't the point' why did you say it in the first place?

@Natasha_Jay@tech.lgbt I would LOVE one that somehow keys into the major info stealing networks and reports back what every retail site gets from you via Facebook cookies or any other ones. FWIW the site failed to get my GPU nor the resolution correctly (misreported both).
