If you liked Red Rabbit Ghost- you’ll need to make room on your shelf for The Winter Folk by Jen Julian. #creepy #gothic #horror set in #Appalachia this one just draws a reader in. #reading #bookreview #books https://hollysreadingescapades.blogspot.com/2026/04/book-review-winter-folk-by-jen-julian.html?m=1

I don’t like to do negative reviews but sometimes they happen. This was not a favorite for me but it will work for others! #romance #bookreview #reading #fantasy https://hollysreadingescapades.blogspot.com/2026/05/book-review-half-city-by-kate-golden.html

@Citizenkahn@tech.lgbt @NefariousAryq@hoosier.social @DemocracyMattersALot@mstdn.social @pixelpusher220@dmv.community larger actions are needed. Growing up as a Quaker they kinda prepare you for these actions and spell out the consequences and ways to plan/mitigate. For me it seems most ppl are not ready for the consequences of larger actions (myself included) such a weird life timeline

@DemocracyMattersALot@mstdn.social @pixelpusher220@dmv.community @Citizenkahn@tech.lgbt @NefariousAryq@hoosier.social I think personally the answer is found in community. If we look at the successful bus boycotts those were successful bc others stepped up and gave rides, etc. all of us have to get offline and be in community with ppl… which is harder than online for lots of us!

Replying to

@llebrun @lostatsea369 @DystopicRedhead but the whole regulated by Government oversight is fraught with issue. Which level of Government? Should say the Governor of a certain state have oversight and then declare that one “can’t say gay”? I feel like it’s caught between a rock and a hard place. And if Government is the administrator- they then have access to a lot of information…I don’t have a solution. Just a lot of questions.

Everina Maxwell has a New Romantic Fantasy coming out in December! It’s a slow burn, #sapphic story with excellent #worldbuilding, plot and character development. I loved it! #bookreview #reading #newbooks #fantasy https://hollysreadingescapades.blogspot.com/2026/04/book-review-call-me-traitor-by-everina.html?m=1

@QasimRashid@mastodon.social I’m gonna have to say the wry sarcastic comments aren’t passing the vibe check. Maybe we don’t have to use any opportunity to get in a snarky jibe and maybe we can just absorb the horror that this is.
