Even worse in my mind are the ones that issue a prior approval (a requirement that should be illegal too), and then once they see the bill reverse their approval decision. That should not just be illegal but should result in the CEO going to jail for life.

@Drwave@mastodon.social I’m still amazed at what I managed to achieve with just 32 KB of RAM… and 100 KB floppy discs to store programs and data on.
The first hard drives I remember using at school were huge & held, if my memory serves me, just 5 MB - and that seemed like a lot at the time.
We’ve come a very long way in the space of just a few decades.

Same with the World Cup. He didn’t need to be there, and his behaviour tells you everything you need to know about why he was. He wanted the spot light on him. He had no interest in football. He just wants his name and/or his photo attached to as many things as possible.

@DaveRussell @heidilifeldman The list is much, much longer than that… pretty much every cabinet member, his horrendous press secretary with her oversized cross to hide behind while she lies to the world, and plenty of others. Then there are the ones just below that layer, the ones in charge of ICE, the FBI etc. And all the ICE agents who broke laws. They all need to face consequences for their actions (and “following orders” is no excuse).

His companies and his family need to foot the bill for all of that (and the companies need to be dissolved as well when we’re done). His name needs to be so toxic it only appears in history books as a warning to future generations about letting narcissistic criminals into positions of power.

Is the one power bank per person limit a Southwest thing, or is that now common to all airlines?
Amusingly, while I can only carry one power bank, I am allowed up to 20 spare batteries for my camera.
Flight booked for Portland on Thursday to collect the car & drive it back. Currently in Newberg, OR, just over 600 miles away.
Then I’m going to have to work out how to deal with DMV.
Why are car dealers so hard to deal with... Interested in a car, been listed on their web page for a little while, so I ask for info. We missed each other yesterday, but today he calls me and amazingly the car is going to be picked up to go to auction in an hour or so if I don't get them a deposit soon. Do they really think I'm going to believe that?

There is a bridge on the way into Walnut Creek here that during 2024 was all pro-convict slogans. For the last few months it has had strongly anti-convict messages. The bridge has clearly turned against him.
Spent the weekend at an ultimate frisbee tournament in Fresno, early starts and I never looked at my email. This morning is a nightmare!
Sports commentators really do say stupid things… watching college softball & the woman commentating the game just told us that the pitcher “has been in this situation before, with a runner on 1st” - a division 1 college pitcher would have to be pretty damn amazing to have never had a runner on 1st before in her career (or terrible, so she gives up doubles or better on every hit, but then she’d never make it to D1)

@QasimRashid@mastodon.social One of the risks of not teaching kids about world religions in schools is that they grow up not understanding how they relate to each other, and how similar many of them are.
It is ironic that those shouting the loudest about not teaching Islamic law in schools are at the same time trying to force Christian law to be taught there.
