Kul!

@AltonDooley @AaronDavid good to know I'm not the only one. It's early in the morning, that's my defense.

Since there was a book circle at the recent #Åcon14 I re-read "Way station" by Clifford D. Simak and found that like many of his other books, it still holds up.
Go read it, if you haven't.
I have been reading Alternity again after a decade or so since I last looked at it. It's both very old school and also has some interesting new ideas for the game system.
Last time I read it, I remember I really felt enthusiasm after reading it. That's a good reaction to a game, that you really want to play it.
Am I loosing pace a bit in my Fading Suns game? Maybe, or I'm just after a new shiny.

@RogerBW I almost think that player is necessary for a Traveller game to take off. I'm very much *not* that player. @Taskerland

@RogerBW That makes so much sense. Turn into a new kind of game, but I'd be up for it! @Taskerland
just watched a 30 minute video where Taylor Swift talks about her life, her songwriting and all kinds of stuff.
The part about songwriting I found really interesting. She has spent so much time thinking about her craft!

@ellane considering I find Taylor's own accent in those early recording to be a bit much, this one *almost* works. :)

@cutesobri The classic T&T is simple and d6 based. The quickstart can be had for free.

@mhd If you are going to have rules for aging, that's a surprisingly neat way to get them into play.
I decided to try to catch up with how buddhism caught on in the late sixties, and got hold of "Be Here Now" by Ram Dass, a best seller back in the day.
It was an interesting read. The biographical part made me wonder about what a serious junkie he used to be! Some sort of religion was probably a good thing for him!
I liked the idea of Be Here Now, of really being here and in the now. Living a life of endless love and compassion in the now is good, all buddhism aside!
*sigh* so the day has come when Wyland was forced upon me, and after an update I rebooted and now Plasma complains about some iBus settings I had to google for a solution for. Also, my dmesg output is now filled with kernel call traces and what looks like some kind of obscure warning about dire straits.
Are there any hints why? Are there any useful messages about what to do about it? No, of course not.
How long have people been hacking on that crap?

My latest adventures with #wayland is not pleasant. Today mplayer just fucked my whole system. It tried to load a video file, the terminal becomes unresposive and then the screen becomes black. Now kwin_wayland runs at many hundred percent and when logging in from another system there's no trace of a mplayer process. Great.

@kyonshi@dice.camp I have never visited Popeyes, as they're not established here in Sweden, but I totally agree there *has* to be spinach on the menu. They are missing a marketing trick there.
