Gee, can you imagine?
When departing China, "...the U.S. delegation trashed all Chinese gifts and souvenirs on the tarmac before boarding Air Force One to avoid spying risks."
I get that security is one thing, but how would this reflect diplomacy?
I may be way off base here, but didn't APOLLO see the far side of the moon "with human eyes"?
Are you a content creator that holds your microphone, whether it's a Shure SM7 or a DJI bluetooth mic? Do you think that's cool?
You look like a doofus, as if you have *no idea* what you're doing and IMHO, it's not worth watching your content - ever.
With the tech that we have, we shouldn't even be able to *see* your mic. Clip it on or put it out of sight and use both your hands to gesture.
I surely wish that all the peeps that code *all* the online media players would do a thing - put the audio level control (or the volume fader) in the same place *on each player*.
It's annoying to discover that the vid I clicked on is gonna blow up my speakers before I can find the control to turn it down. And as I continue doomscrolling I can't turn the next one up before it ends because the volume is in a different place!
Please. Give yer head a shake.
If you're a real estate agent, and you're taking the photos of the house that your client's just listed with you, you're an idiot. Get a photographer. You are NOT doing a service for your client.
And if you're using your cellphone to take those snaps, you're a *heckin'* idiot.
"... you should hone in ..."
HOME, people. The word is "home." Heat-seeking missiles home in. Homing pigeons head for home. Not hone.
To "hone" is to sharpen. You hone a knife, or your vocabulary. See what I did there?
When the algorithm can't find anything newsworthy on a day the US attacks another country.
For all my friends and family back home in Canada: I hope you're all having a fun and safe Victoria Day weekend.
Feeling frustrated. Shopping for a home. Why is it that whatever price you wanna buy at, every home you can find at that price is crap?
Ok, so active receive antennas can sometimes work better than a "conventional" antenna. Got it.
But could you therefore use a pair of active receive antennas to null out noise?
It's ironic. The web was supposed to make shopping easier, wasn't it?
I'm trying to replace an item. Everyone says they have them if you look on their website, but when you walk into the store, no one has them in-store. ALL the websites allow 3rd-party sellers to list stuff even tho you select 'only show in-stock at my location.' So, they may 'have' them, but really, it's the 3rd-party sellers that will sell them, and only from the big-box store's website!
I'm annoyed.
Dang!
The USPS is running *so* much more efficiently, isn't it?
Purchased some motors from a seller in Union City, CA, a 8-9 hour drive from where I live, Grants Pass.
After the entered the system, it was "estimated' they'd be delivered Thurs or Fri, They *sat* for 24 hours in San Jose. Then they were sent to Portland (they passed with a 1/4 mile of my home!) in the interstate. They are still not here.
Hamtubers: There is a new DJI OSMO Pocket. Pocket 4, with a *1 inch* sensor (!) and 14 stops of dynamic range.
The cameras we shoot with (Blackmagic Ursa, Pocket Cinema, and Micro Studio) have 14 stops!
Wow.
I just watched Blackmagic Design's NAB 2026 'new product' video. If you're a #Ham that uses social for video, you need to see what the new DaVinci Resolve can do. I work in tv and it's amazing, especially for only $295!
Here's the whole vid but it's just over 2 hours. The bit about Resolve is from 1:39:00 to 2:02:00.
It's mindblowing.

I used to work in a master's program for physician assistants. This is some scary stuff right here. I'm only glad that I'll die before a med student that rode an AI thru the program is a caregiver to me.
For all of us that fix our own stuff, this is HUGE: https://blog.adafruit.com/2026/04/09/john-deere-to-pay-99-million-in-monumental-right-to-repair-settlement/
It's SO odd: health insurance in the USA is upside down.
Instead of their primary and *only* goal being to facilitate our good health, health insurance companies' goal is to harvest profits.
What's wrong with this picture?
pour one out for Country Joe.
An' it's one, two, three. What're we fightin' for?
SitRep: currently in Idaho looking for a house or piece of property. Saturday we begin driving back to Grants Pass making a stop in Portland.
Gee, it kinda looks to me that we're rapidly approaching that Tom Cruise movie, "Minority Report."
I finally had time to do tire rotate and lube-oil-filter. I feel like when I was a kid and got a new pair of high-tops. I can go *fast* now! 😁😁
