LOL answered someone on our local repeater, and a bunch of new hams suddenly showed up and started chatting among themselves, and forgot I was there (fine with me). Apparently a lot of them listening, but none talk until they hear someone else talking. Second day in a row. #hamradio

Best video ever, contact made via a satellite (SO-50) with @wd9ewk@mastodon.radio when I was on a remote island doing a POTA activation! (US-0014) -- Channel Islands National Park - Santa Rosa Island. Also IOTA NA-144. #hamradio #POTA #IOTA https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tPJcV34vMB0&t=251s
Hoping to active CM93/CM94 both on satellite and (maybe) HF next week. IOTA NA-144. POTA US-00014. #hamradio #POTA #IOTA #satellite
Taking radios on adventures sure does bring on the curse of the failing coax... Any marginally crimped coax WILL FAIL. Soldered connectors, maybe... High heat combined with very cold wet conditions = stress. #hamradio
Ah, I see N6DNM is on CM93/CM94 (at the spot on Santa Rosa Island near the airfield) right now. Satellite contacts...#hamradio #amsat #satellite

@kelvin0mql Then again, I talked to a different guy six days in a row and he didn't remember my name or call until the seventh time... LOL.

@thejasonhowell It's possible, but it'll annoy the people here on Mastodon, IMHO. (i.e. one way tweets, no interaction, etc.)

Should be easy to connect this to python gTTS for text to speech, except I absolutely hate the voice :-(

@N2DYI Ooh, that would be better than gTTS. gTTS is the voice behind all the (very annoying) TikToks.
