@arthurgron@mstdn.ca one of the reasons for building Ontario Place - way back when - was to capitalise on the CNE and try to create a year-round attraction. :/

@screwturn can't agree with you about sex, it's been one of the best things about my life, but everything else, yeah.

@arthurgron@mstdn.ca ok but wait. The CNE was heavily subsidized by businesses who promoted and sold their goods there - it was from the very beginning a trade show, while Wonderland was from the beginning entertainment. Businesses no longer find it relevant, so that revenue stream is gone, and where is that money to come from? It's either going to be fees, or fees in the form of taxes, and there is little appetite for either.

@tmaher@infosec.exchange if it does turn out to be AI its going to be *very* difficult for them to talk about it as the Prime Minister is pushing AI at every opportunity.

@publicdomainrev@mastodon.social that thing that looks like a cutter is a "scutcher", used for breaking up dried stems; the spiky upside-down brush is called a "hackler" - stems are pulled through it to separate and disentangle the long strong fibres from the other plant matter. These are specifically for processing flax into linen and hemp for its many uses.

@screwturn@mastodon.social @argv_minus_one@mastodon.sdf.org is that true about petrichor? (Sorry if I'm taking you too literally.)
