An #introduction!
I am evilchili (he/him). For 35 years I worked in the tech industry. Now I'm on my New Game+.
I make #resin dice. I've been running a #dnd game for the same group every two weeks for 9 years. I homebrew relentlessly, and never met a system I didn't want to tinker with.
I will be posting about all that plus #crafting, #woodworking, #boardgames, #videohames, and whatever else I spend my free time on. I might even write some #software now that I don't have to.
Hey, can I get a #chemist on the line? Maybe one with #cosmetic or #polymer knowledge?
So, I have psoriatic arthritis, and a manifestation is a degradation of my nails. And I was looking into a product, which is advertised as "beneficial" to one's nails, which is not a thing associated with manicure products.
It is a #uv cured gel, but rubberized in some way.
Here's the thing, all of these "gel" or uv cured products appear to be #resin.
Am I wrong in assuming that both long term exposure to resin and UV is incredibly dangerous? When I've done resin work, I've been fully masked and gloved and all of the safety sheets say to avoid skin contact. I stopped working with it because of safety and environmental concerns.
How is nail resin any more safe?
