Utah, where plenty of cow herds were infected with birdflu. The 🧠🪱 does nothing. The CDC is gutted. The USDA is lead by an 🟠💩 puppet. Minks are an excellent reservoir. Spill over in barnyard cats and mice. Hello new pandemic. Since the new regime in the US there are no more measures taken against bird flu. Nothing is done. Nothing is reported, unless like this it is so big it can't stay out of the news. Every traveler from the US could carry the bird flu virus. They should be quarantined upon entering other countries. And only allowed to travel further when after tests they are proven to be birdflu free. https://www.sltrib.com/news/2026/09/27/animal-advocates-raise-alarm-over/ #H5N1 #Birdflu #Vogelgriep #Pandemic

#SouthAustralian authorities say they have five new suspected events of #birdflu in the state, including a red fox in #Osborne in metropolitan #Adelaide. SA's Department of Primary Industries and Regions (PIRSA) included the fox in its latest bird flu update that detailed five new suspected bird flu "events". Samples have been sent to a national testing facility in Geelong for confirmation. #auspol #avianinfluenza #mammalshttps://www.abc.net.au/news/2026-08-26/red-fox-suspected-of-h5n1-infection-in-adelaide-suburb/107079798

#extinction #Australia #BirdFlu #SeaLions "Bird Flu at Seal Bay Threatens Australian Sea Lions With Extinction-Level Breeding Failure H5N1 terns confirmed at Kangaroo Island colony; same seal-to-seal pathway killed 95% in Argentina Five infected terns found at Kangaroo Island's Seal Bay — home to roughly 5% of the global population of a species found nowhere else on Earth — have pushed Australia's endangered Australian sea lion to the edge of a catastrophe that wildlife scientists say has no known response once it begins. Federal authorities confirmed 54 cases of H5N1 bird flu in wild seabirds across mainland Australia as of 9am AEST on August 2, 2026, a figure that nearly tripled in under 24 hours — and the virus is now carrying the specific biological pathway that killed an estimated 95% of elephant seal pups along a 124-mile (200 km) stretch of Argentine coastline in 2023, with no birds required.” https://www.techtimes.com/articles/322698/20260802/bird-flu-seal-bay-threatens-australian-sea-lions-extinction-level-breeding-failure.htm

#Whale #stranded on #Sydney beach 3 days ago to be tested for #BirdFlu. A #newborn #humpback whale carcass will be tested for H5N1 bird flu as a precaution. A member of the public had reported the stranded whale on #GreenHillsBeach in Cronulla about 6.30am on Friday by calling the Organisation for the Rescue and Research of Cetaceans in Australia (ORRCA) hotline. It looks like the worst has finally happened. The deadly strain of H1N5 bird flu has arrived in Australasia, with a migratory brown skua in Western Australia testing positive (it’s since died). If this bird flu establishes in Australia, it is expected to then make the jump across the Tasman to NZ. This is the bird flu strain that has caused mass die-offs of many bird and marine mammal species as it’s spread across the world. The second link below is the fact sheet from NZ Ministry for Primary Industries on what we should be doing. The first step is to be vigilant and keep a look out for sick and dead birds and seals. In preparation for the arrival of H5N1, the Department of Conservation has been immunising some of our most threatened birds, like kakapō. https://www.theguardian.com/australia-news/2026/jun/19/australia-bird-flu-deadly-h5n1-first-suspected-case-wa https://www.mpi.govt.nz/biosecurity-in-nz/dont-let-bird-flu-take-flight #BirdFlu #H5N1 #Australia #NZ #biosecurity

Bowman and colleagues have been following the disease since its emergence on dairy farms, reporting early this year on detection of the virus in retail milk supplies – at that time, 36.3% of samples tested were positive for H5N1 particles 36%! and once a cow's infected, they produce high-viral-titer milk for a week-plus So that raw milk, hmm? Hmm. THey found: Bottle-feeding calves high-viral-titer milk collected from infected cows led to minimal virus detection and inflammatory signs in the calves, suggesting transmission through feeding doesn't spread enough material to establish an infection but "doesn't spread enough" will eventually take hold in some (likely mostly immune suppressed) people, and eventually one of the many mutations or recombinations (common in influenza) will be a viral genome with human-human fitness. Tests for transmission among cows through milk machinery or through feeding of calves, and between birds and cattle through shared indoor air, didn't show results of disease spread isn't very reassuring in the context of viral particle inoculations into individual cow teats, where mammary glands are located. Results showed that the smallest dose of 10 particles resulted in productive infection but fewer clinical signs compared to higher doses, as well as shedding of milk containing high concentrations of viral particles https://www.news-medical.net/news/20260615/Just-ten-viral-particles-can-infect-cows-with-bird-flu.aspx h/t you know who you are #H5N1 #influenza #birdFlu #milk

I did not forget about bird flu. "CDC confirms cat-to-human transmission of avian influenza" <🙀> Last spring, investigators with the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health (LACDPH) and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) interviewed individuals who had been exposed to HPAI-infected pet cats that consumed raw animal products. ... The 19 cats in the study all had become sick after consuming commercially purchased raw milk, raw meat, or raw pet food between November 2024 and January 2025. Nine cats were tested and all came back positive for H5N1 clade 2.3.4.4b, genotype B3.13, which is also what most human H5N1 infections have involved. The remaining cases were detected through veterinarian reports, commercial laboratory reports, or routine influenza A reverse transcription–polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) testing of brain tissue from euthanized cats. https://www.avma.org/news/cdc-confirms-cat-human-transmission-avian-influenza "H5N1 clade 2.3.4.4b, genotype B3.13" is the one going through US cow herds and bird flocks. #birdFlu #avianInfluenza #mooFlu #h5n1 #cats #zoonosis
