Over 400 alleged #Michigan #Jewish #Democratic and independent voters signed a pledge in late August to vote for #Republican #US Senate candidate Mike Rogers, igniting a controversy and generating questions about whether Democratic nominee #AbdulElSayed was losing critical support among a group that typically votes blue by about a 2:1 ratio.
But a #DropSiteNews review of signatories in the “Michigan Jews Against Extremism” campaign finds many of the Jewish community leaders involved have deep ties to the #GOP, as well as to pro-#Israel activist groups such as #AIPAC. Nearly 50 were involved in a nearly identical gambit in 2012 named “Jews for Mitt.”

Columbia University paid hundreds of thousands of dollars to pro-Israel organizations while cracking down on pro-Palestine activism on campus, according to an investigation by The Intercept based on the university’s financial filings.
During the fiscal year ending June 2024, Columbia paid $100,000 to the Israel on Campus Coalition, $75,000 to AIPAC’s charitable arm, and $450,000 to the United Jewish Appeal Federation of New York.
Over the past decade, Columbia paid more than $250,000 to AIPAC’s charitable arm. No comparable payments to Palestinian, Arab, or Muslim organizations appeared in the filings reviewed by The Intercept.
The payments came as Columbia suspended Students for Justice in Palestine and Jewish Voice for Peace, dismantled Gaza solidarity encampments, and brought police onto campus to arrest protesters.

Section 219 would require the secretary of defense to designate an “executive agent” at the Pentagon, tasked only with cooperation with #Israel.
The technology domains named in the bill include data sharing, missile defense, counter-drone systems, cyber capabilities, artificial intelligence, quantum technologies, directed-energy weapons, biotechnology, and defense manufacturing.
The bill also includes another $750 million for U.S.-Israel cooperative programs, according to #AIPAC, which sponsored the legislation.
Those sums come on top of an existing 10-year agreement that provides Israel $3.3 billion per year in direct military financing plus $500 million annually for missile defense cooperation through 2028.
This, at the same time the #Pentagon has declared Israel a "critical threat".
