Looking for info/knowledge
Does anyone have any experience (or know anyone that does) with egg-laying survivors of PPMV? Or other egg-laying bird survivors of PMV/Newcastle Disease?
Long shot, I know. But I have a pigeon hen who recovered from PPMV back in December '25 but has still been unable to lay despite going through all of the motions (courtship > mating > nesting > nest sitting - no eggs, she'll sit on nothing & demand shift swaps from her mate).
She is otherwise healthy.
Just curious if this is permanent or if there's a chance she will lay again.
So far I've only found very little anecdotal information on Reddit & the odd scientific report about reduced egg laying in chickens & turkeys.

Yet they also cut staffing hours when leakage/stock losses are too high. It's already a low wage job, most retail employees cannot afford to lose hours. So staff are effectively pressured to prevent shoplifting in order to not loose what little income they have.
Honestly one of the worst companies I've ever worked for.

@ret@furry.engineer Yeah! In my experience theyre better at picking up tricks than some parrot species. I have one hen in particular who seems to enjoy it and she's up to 3 now. She's an adult bird too, so I have to wonder how many a baby could pick up. 🤔

@ret@furry.engineer I can imagine. If it's a busy store, the staff probably don't get the time. Whilst they do hire a cleaner, their only job is to mop the shop floor in the am. The rest of the cleaning is dumped on the staff, cashiers mostly.
If it's a quiet store? Laziness. Although idk how much I could blame them since pay is only a hair above minimum wage (about £0.20 more when I worked there, for reference). >_>
