The #crawlers are pretty annoying, especially when looking at irrelevant stuff digging deeper than necessary. Fortunately, in #OpenBSD using the #fail2ban pattern can be applied as well. My #GoT web server got hammered and first I just banned all the found crawler names. However, now, every action they do on gotwebd is remembered with an effort number and if that adds up to 100, the IP is banned. Additonally, connection storms are also banned if they follow certain patterns. #pf, #perl and I am done using only on-board tools. Why? I didn't want to install #anubis. Not because I don't like it, it is just because I like to do the minimum.

I do innovation projects in #IT, from #design to #prototype to #production, including building up teams and embedding them in the organization. To make that possible I can bring in a small team with flexible #devs and an #ops person to smooth things from the start.

Past stuff I did include the German #VaccinationPass, real-time data analytics, marketing tech, and #trust networks, but I also have experience in #hardware and #embedded development. I did the first design and implementation for the #CalliopeMini and a battery powered medical class 2 device.

My current engagement is coming to and end and I look for new work within the next three months. I can be hired through my company (governify.de) where I augment my partner regarding the technical implementations and implications of digital trust.

A thing about #authors that I feel makes the difference between “nice read” and whatever you call an awesome book is the repeated explanation of facts.

I will accept a short recap of a person or a fictional machines peculiarity at the start of a new book in a series. However, an author should accept I can remember and envision things from the story.

It very often happens in #SciFi stories for me.

Ueber seine Arbeitgeberwahl kann man streiten. Aber ich habe Yann LeCun als wirklich exzellenten Wissenschaftler mit fundiertem Fachwissen kennengerlernt. Wenn er sich jetzt so aeussert, dann steckt da viel Wahrheit drin.
