@feld @davidak @forgejo @Codeberg Codeberg is a not-for-profit entity providing a free service and they're keeping with Microsoft's GitHub in terms of its uptime. calling this statement Disingenuous and blaming *them* for being *attacked* is victim blaming. They're doing incredible and the more attacks they defend the more they'll be able to strengthen their infra. I personally believe the main criticism of gitea not dogfooding is valid. if your software is so good, you should be using it in your community demonstrating that it's viable to host for others also.

I figure also people can use the mainboards as donors for lifting parts to repair other macs for parts that aren't serialized to the board

@cwebber @Blender I agree! to me it looked like they took a donation and followed their processes (also posting an announcement) and everyone seemed to think well now they're already in bed together. Turns out that people need to be paid to develop blender and I believe they're gonna continue doing their great work with thr money they got in their own interests.

I choose to believe that there is some good left in the world and blender is doing it, they need to eat too.

@Blender@mastodon.social I don't like AI as much as the next guy, but getting money with no strings attached to continue the incredible work I personally feel is fine. This post basically just reflects what i thought of the previous announcement (a formality set by yourself for receiving donations) thanks!
