Here's where Newsom gets it very wrong and why I'm mad.
I don't need you to express views that are in 100% alignment with me.
I just need you to agree that purposefully targeting any group of people with misinformation and then using the platform of the Presidency to demonize them ... is wrong.
I don't think that's a weird or controversial view and I don't think it requires you to have any particular opinion about pronouns or whatever.
It's sine die in #Indiana and I can officially report that NO ANTI-LGBTQ LANGUAGE SURVIVED THIS SESSION.
This is the first time that's happened since 2020 - the start of the anti-#trans wave that has swept the country.
This is a very big deal, and today I'm pleased and proud to call myself a #Hoosier.
I don't have the energy for conspiracy theories when there are so many horrible things to concentrate on that are right out in the open and verifiable.
I don't want to be in danger, but I do like lighting candles and cuddling in the basement rumpus room with all the humans and cats and dogs that live here hey maybe I can do that without needing a tornado???!
Bold of Braun to schedule the release of his "Leave It To Beaver" kink fanfic in honor of Pride month.
I'm weary of candidates who know the right things to say to me but lack a strategy for building power in the body they aspire to sit on with my vote.
Show me how you are going to build consensus and get practical work done.
I don't care how well you dance.
Marion County early vote turnout numbers are more than *double* where they were at this time in the last two primary elections.
Abdul is reporting that folks inside the clerk's office are estimating an 80/20 Dem/Rep split.
Those are *insane* numbers.
You know ... you can have a campaign that embraces sanity without throwing people under the bus.
I'd love to see candidates run hard on the value of strengthening basic democratic principles like checks and balances, and all of the other core elements of a functioning government we've turned away from.
It can be a patriotic message that appeals to a wide variety of people. It also has the advantage of being correct.
Yall @dragondaddy@hoosier.social is graduating summa cum laude from the IU Indy Lilly School of Philanthropy. I'm incredibly proud of him, obviously. If you wanna watch his commencement speech:
I hate to say this but our only actual hope is for Indiana Dems to put aside their Big Feelings about the primary and get in fucking formation.
There's gotta be a first time for everything.
It's a genocide. Don't call it a "culture war." Or an "ideological difference."
The goal of eradication isn't even whispered anymore. It is regularly stated, loudly and proudly, by powerful mainstream conservatives.
Violent threats are being used, successfully, to intimidate institutions that support us into withdrawing that support.
They are successfully driving #trans people out of public life while folks soft pedal about terms and dismiss this as a fringy wedge issue.
I've often said that @dragondaddy@hoosier.social is going to be a Senator one day.
The good kind.
You owe it to your heart to give this a watch.
Dem primary turnout #s are a great sign for the general here in Indiana! Many counties seem to be far outpacing previous years in turnout and a few (Tippecanoe and Hamilton for example) are currently averaging more Dem ballots than Rep ballots for the first time in decades.
Let's bring that same level of energy to the general election even if our fav candidate doesn't emerge from the primary, huh?
I think the worst part of the past 3 years of rebuilding my work during the rise of the far right has been seeing how many people I formerly respected decide that expecting basic, ordinary decency can be "politically controversial" as long as it's about people like me.
I'm not talking about pronouns or language. I'm talking about just *basic* politeness. You don't have to be a member of Antifa or a Soros-paid protestor to know that going out of your way to be cruel on purpose is wrong.
Having a morning of overwhelm at the number of things that are *worthy* of my attention as an activist.
I always try to concentrate on the fights that I am best placed and best prepared for. It's just increasingly hard to keep my eye on what that is, and where one flight begins and the other ends.
Working my VERY FIRST #DiningOutForLife TOMMOROW NIGHT with TIA!!!!! - best first event assignment of all time.
Come have a laugh with us over dinner at Arni's in #Greenwood! Easy call - and an easy way to support #DamienCenter.

Just so you know, much of Disney's catalog is available for free at your local library, and many libraries have streaming options.
Middle fingers up to all the mediocre people in the past couple of years who counted me out, discounted my work, and thought they could just take me off the board.
Last night was a massive win for Trump in Indiana and a real blow to the idea that we might be able to correct the course of the general assembly's rightward drift.
There's no sugar-coating it. This primary was important.
Next legislative session is going to be a bloodbath for anyone the administration has in their sights.
I don't peak at a candidate's social media to learn their stated position on the issues. Public positions are easy to find, easy to declare and always subject to change.
I do it to learn if they possess the discernment, wisdom and forbearance that are prerequisite to earning my vote.
In 2026 you don't need to look far to see why I feel those qualities aren't negotiable.
These are the races I'm watching today. What happens in these Republican Senate primaries will determine whether Trump can reach into state elections and drive the #Indiana supermajority rightward.
This will at least set the agenda in Indiana for the next two years, minimum. Probably much longer.
If these incumbents perform well ... it's another black eye for him to match the one we gave him last December.
