How does one even become a Pokémon gym leader? Any ten year old can become a trainer, but what qualifications does a gym leader need? And who approves/appoints them?
So Furality announced yesterday in their Discord group (note it was one day after their big Furality Connections livestream that did give details about the upcoming Furality Ultra this year) that they will be requiring age verification and that the con will be 18+ only. (That doesn't inherently mean it will be an NSFW convention)
They don't state in the announcement directly, but the age verification is being done by Persona, which is an AI-based identity verification service that works with many big companies, notably OpenAI, which they proudly display on their home page.

Yes, VRChat already uses this for age verification, but that's also bad.
One possible positive to Sony pushing an all digital future (yes, it is still a very anti-consumer proposal) is that a future handheld system they make could possibly have near performance parity with the base PS5, because that launched about six years ago now and mobile processors became much more powerful in that time.
I say this as in a new PS handheld could play the exact same digital games as current PS5 (and not have two separate versions like on PS4 and Vita) but run in performance mode using PSSR to help improve things to improve battery life, and it would not do extra stuff like background recording. Maybe it could have a dock and do the Switch thing too like Steam Deck, but I'd rather it not and just focus on being super portable. The Vita was such a great size for portability. And with no physical game requirement, they wouldn't have another format to print on high capacity storage mediums, like cartridges when Switch 2 already limits to 64GB and manufacturing those is expensive.

Also, I haven't seen my neighbor across the hall yet, but I heard some commotion last night and today see that someone left a stern goodbye note at their door. Seems like a breakup and I know nothing about any of it.
Sony dropping physical media production next year is ridiculous. Not only is it literally the opposite approach of what turned the tides at the start of the last console gen, it also means that a future PS Vita 2 or whatever handled will be digital only too. This was hinted at when Blu-ray blank disc production for customers was shut down last year, and Sony settling an antitrust lawsuit about PS market monopolization (https://thenextweb.com/news/sony-playstation-store-7-85-million-antitrust-settlement-digital-games) which only just got preliminary approval to proceed two weeks ago.
This is likely an attempt to seize whatever market they can now as a result of skirting existing antitrust laws, which means trying to kill off the second hand market entirely. The disc manufacturing cost probably plays some part of this decision but they also just recently announced the deletion of digital movie licenses from user accounts like this week (https://www.videogameschronicle.com/news/sony-is-deleting-over-550-purchased-movies-from-ps5-users-digital-libraries/) too. Sony having no real competition this gen has allowed them to squander all goodwill they built up for 15 years.

My dad and I dropped off some old furniture I wasn't taking down at the dump, and we just made it in time before they closed. I actually hadn't been to one before and it was a bit confusingly laid out, but it was neat. I also spent a couple hours removing the residue from the sticky pads that I used to hold up a bunch of foam panels to be used for some sound dampening (honestly, results are inconclusive if they did much). Tried not to damage the paint or mess with the wall, so it was mostly just kitchen sponges and elbow grease to rub that stuff off. The heat gun trick did not work and Goo Gone may not have been much better than the way we did it, but it came out well enough. Now my thumb has a big callous on it though lol

@anarchaeopteryx It didn't hit until just a few days ago that there's really nothing left holding me down here. My roots have been disentangled with this soil and I am free again. Being outside now feels slower and quieter, no expectations or deadlines souring the fresh air. It is the kind of relief I needed after so long, though I do still have to worry a little about the future. That much is still in my nature lol

@anarchaeopteryx@gamepad.club Well, I can't blame them too much for the rental time fees crossing into a second month, but I will for the double charge on the one order because of two pods being involved. The person I called for the swap never mentioned this and made it seem more of an exchange but I might just have to pay delivery costs for the time, which would have just been fairly cheap on its own.
But yeah, a normal moving company may end up costing more but is just much simpler. I'll probably stick to that and not do another long distance move again if I can help it.

@Korawolfsrain If you are on PC, you can check the crash logs in the Event Viewer. (I'm no expert with Linux distros if using such, but there should be a similar crash log or event log on there)
It could be a number of things, so best to check what the error reports as. A majority of the hardware related issues I see are memory related, so my first step would be to power off completely and remove the DIMM(s), then reinsert them and try again. Just a basic first thing before full memory troubleshooting.
If your PC has a CPU with integrated graphic support, you could try to run it without the GPU installed to see if it is a GPU issue.

@scribblemacher I loved this one so much growing up. Even if my cartridge was a bad reproduction and the battery didn't save anything so it was a fresh play every time I powered on the GBA. And that's not even getting into the super niche but cool multiplayer aspect where you could have up to four players each in their own sections of the map and can call everyone to one place with the phone. That's so cool!
