in a record store today it turned out that my older brother, who was always the #reggae head in our family, didn’t know this album — Keith Hudson’s Flesh of my Skin, Blood of my Blood. It is one of my all-time favourites, so if you don’t either, I highly recommend you lend it your ear sometime!

coming to think of it, this is an interesting dynamic that some acts play with and that can work very well. It obviously worked for early Primus. Likewise, I can remember very few moments at gigs as exhilarating as standing near the podium looking up, shouting “fuck you Ice Cube!!!” straight into Ice Cube’s grinning face.
