I hope there's a big turnout.
Remember the Anti Nazi League? This is the reprise. But the Far Right have a lot more fellow travellers now.
Good result, for me, in the #Army #orienteering event yesterday, at Congo Stream and Mytchett. 45th out of 63 qualifying finishers (ie not DNF or DSQ)., short green course. Happy because I'm usually close to last. Plus I ran off the map last time and lost 20 mins incompetently relocating. I'm not military, btw: civilians can enter.
If YouGov can conduct a survey as flawed as this, can we trust any of its work?
Ryanair's fine reputation is further enhanced...

At least they showed the last ten mins. But given this was a history-making event, with Klaebo completing an an unprecedented suite of medals, it's still a fail.
Another good result in the #Army #orienteering, this time at Hankley North. 28th /52, short green. I think my navigation's become quite reliable, but further improvement will require speeding up my decision making. Not sure how best to do that. Any advice?
This is quite a story. It's certainly add some spice to the long jump competition at the World Indoor Athletics Championships this week.

Good to see Hackney council finally seeing sense on #motorcycle #parking charges, albeit after being forced to.
What could be more flattering than having a parasitic wasp named after you?

@selfe.bsky.social The logic is as it ever was. If you're going to follow the rules, why not participate in making them?

@drmambobob@ecoevo.social Or, even more British, perhaps: you can get lost and muddy running around a London park after dark. (I did that yesterday.)

@bartvanherck@mastodon-belgium.be That's a lot of controls for the distance. The olive green areas are all out of bounds, right? Private gardens?

@Nicovel0@mastodon.social Interesting article and makes some good points, but it leaves out about a decade - 1995-2005 or so - during which the Web was place of huge innovation and hadn't yet turned into the oligopoly of billionnaire tech bro platforms it is today.

@damianlehmann@mastodon.social Do you know how courses are colour-coded, Damian? As a beginner, you're best off with a yellow or orange course, where controls are generally near paths. Green, blue, brown and black courses are all technically hard. Light green is usually between orange and green. This is for forest orienteering. Urban is usually different.
