Ich weiss wie ein Herdenschutzzaun aussieht, wenn ich einen sehe. Und das hier ist keiner.

Manchmal reichen einfach zeit und Löffel nicht, um für einen Zaun, der für gut 24 Stunden steht, das ganze Tamtam auf 130cm zu machen.
Der Zaun ist direkt hinter dem Haus, da hofft es sich, dass wir erwachen würden, wenn was wäre. So oder so sind wir um 5 Uhr auf um die Wiese zu wässern, spätestens wenn die Berieselung läuft haut Isegrim ab. Oder?

Und jetzt noch Schafe zügeln und 5 Netze abbauen.

Da will ich für die heute anstehende Bio-Kontrolle kurz das Tierverkehrs Datenblatt seit der letzten Kontrolle herunterladen und bestehe nur ganz knapp den Human Test.
Ich weiss nicht... Geht das nur mir so? Ich empfinde es immer als Affront, dass der Unterschied zwischen Mensch und Maschine die Fähigkeit sein soll, aus 12 Bildern die mit Zweirädern und Ampeln auszusuchen.

Heute Morgen musste ich kurz meinem Unmut Luft machen. Ich hoffe, es melden noch mehr Leute ihrer Regierung, dass das so nicht geht.

Abends um 19:40 erfahren, dass heute in unserem Dorf auf zwei Weiden Schafe von Wölfen gerissen wurden. Auch wenn unsere Schafe ziemlich im Wohngebiet weiden, mal eben den Zaun von Grundschutz ( Flexinetz 90cm) mit zwei Litzen und 45 Zusatzpfählenn auf 140cm erhöht und im Vorbeigehen nochmal auf Durchschlüpfe abgesucht.
Strom kontrolliert - Zwischen 4000 und 5000V sind auf dem Zaun.
Mehr können wir nicht machen.

Jetzt ist Feierabend für heut.

#lovemakeshare 2: It’s Free Comic Book Day! Have you ever written or drawn comics? If not, would you want to?

I made a few attempts of drawing comics as a kid. But I always started with a big empty notebook and great plans. I probably never made it past the first two panels...

I only remember one finished comic I drew. A four panel comic of a mouse teaching other mice how to take the bait out of a mouse trap without being hurt.

I am more used to condense stuff in one image than a story.

@PetraPhoenix@beige.party I'm so sorry for your loss. And it is tragic to see afterwards what small improvements would have made a difference. Why is shutting the kitchen door good? Did the fire start in the kitchen? We live in a wooden house, atm on the ground floor. We can go out pretty much everywhere. No "trap rooms". We are working on the second floor and absolutely plan an escape ladder for the front side of the house, because one of the rooms could become a trap in a fire.

Observing the flight of birds does not harm the environment and the analysis of it has the accuracy and potential of what is stored in my subconcius and my own filter of values. And I'm serious. I whatch birds fly and ask myself, what does it tell me. And at no point I doubt that this is less accurate than asking an llm. I have to decide things anyways somehow to do what seems right to me.

@potterybyosa absolutely not. I had learned some clay basics for sculpture in art school when I was 16-19. Then I got myself some clay years after that and made incense burning bowls. Being rather a sculptor than a potter I just made them more robust until they were solid enough to support their weight. I shaped them without a turning platform. They are really heavy. This is how I learn. My weasel brain picks up random things like this and will nag me with it until I try it in 25 years.

@potterybyosa yes, I use it for burning incense. I put some sand under the coals to insulate it from the direct heat. I'm not sure if it would tolerate that. I didn't use glazing because I couldn't afford letting it burn twice. Art may be more liberating than craft, but I can't stand the ongoing demand of people asking to give interpretations all the time. When you craft, you can make beautiful things, and those who see it will sense the meaning or not.

Gestern Abend festgestellt, dass die Schafe kein Wasser mehr haben. Die Wässerleitung von dem das Trinkwasser kommt ist leer. Heute Morgen wollte ich das Problem kurz lösen und danach Reben ausmähen. Habe festgestellt, dass auf der anderen Seite auch nichts kommt.
"Cancel all plans". -> Wasser organisieren.
Kaum fertig geworden und neue Pläne geschmiedet für den Rest des Vormittags: Anruf aus dem KiGa. Kind hat Durchfall.
"Cancel all Plans" ist wohl das Motto des Tages...

Mir geht es um Austausch, evtl. konstruktive Kritik, plot twists und all das andere, was den unterschied zwischen Community und Content ausmacht. Kommentare, die zeigen, dass sich jemand ein wenig auf meine Welt einlässt. Oder in meiner Timeline - huh? Was ist der Kontext? Klar, nicht immer ist es sinnvoll zu kommentieren. Vor allem, wenn man den erstellern ungefragt "helfen" möchte, vielleicht eher nicht.

@NatureMC @lichtscheu ha! We also have tigers (limax maximus) on the cat food when it is warmer. Being a night active species they arrive at dusk, and are gone later. I often wonder if they remember where they have all you can eat buffet, or if they are attracted by the smell every evening.

@earthworm@kolektiva.social main problems of centralized food production like artificial meat:: mind you - only plants can create calories - you need to grow calories in a place. This requires fertilizer and maybe irrigation. Then you process it at another place. And then it is eaten at yet another place. And the metabolic byproduct aka poop and pee that contains all of the plant nutrients left, is waste. There is no circle. With grass fed animals you can have that. Not with industry scale meat farms, though.

@earthworm@kolektiva.social I can only double down on this. In my opionion it is not eating meat per se that is problematic. Problematic is how much meat we eat and how we produce it. You can feed some of the heirloom breeds on pieces of land that produces no calories for us humans at all and sustain a high level of biodiversity at the same time. Depending on the climate zone you can even use it as an orchard. This is small scale and invisible to the tech bros. It is a lot of work but low energy input.

Heute eine neue Weide gezäunt, mitten im Dorf, wir versuchen dort nochmals, ob wir sie Nachts draussen lassen können.
Und Abends den ganzen Bestand geimpft und entwurmt.
Ging sehr gut.

Gestern ist unser Zuchtwidder gestorben, laut Tierarzt wohl Breiniere. Bis jetzt haben wir nicht dagegen geimpft. Ab jetzt schon...

Für Herdenschutzhunde haben wir zwei konkretere Angebote. Und wir haben Zusage für einen neuen Widder. Der Bruder unseres vorherigen Widders. Was für ein Glück.

Seit wir den Riss in der gut gezäunten Weide hatten, sind wir auf der Suche nach einsatzbereiten Herdenschutzhunden. Dutzende von Personen kontaktiert. Vereine, NGO... Alle die irgendwie mit dem Thema zu tun haben und etwas wissen könnten.

Die einzigen konkreten Angebote bis jetzt sind Hunde mit Problemen, oder Hunde die mMn zu jung für den Job bei uns sind...

Oder überteuert oder leicht dubios.

Wir stallen auf jeden Fall wieder nachts und bei schlecht Wetter.

@lichtscheu I intended to say: if you write an article about snails, will you include how you can help a snail heal their shell, if it is cracked. I didn't mean the internal processes. Afaik they have some glands to do the job, but I'm not sure. It is not done by cell division quite certainly.
