I can't help but feel like we lost as a nation here. We not only looked bad but we made it nearly impossible for this PhD recipient to feel safe staying in our country after finishing her studies.

@RueNahcMohr@infosec.exchange I have an NEC Prospeed 286 that uses that chip. It was a good CPU in it's day.

@NanoRaptor@bitbang.social And the switches don't change binary machine states, they more nudge complex processes.

@aud I haven't given nvidia any money since 2012 and even then it was grudgingly. Apple wouldn't sell a macbook pro with anything else. As a linux user it didn't make setup on that machine fun.

I know someone who works on software in the T. I messaged them privately. We will see if they are willing to comment either publicly or privately.
@Lydie@tech.lgbt They make a lot of variations of this microscope camera with vastly different functionality.s Mine can:
- Record at 30fps with mp4 encoding while displaying 1080 at 60fps
- Take still photos while displaying at the CCD native resolution (can't remember but it's good)
- Measure and annotate on the screen when you fix the focus and calibrate it! This is often a lifesaver if you don't have the datasheet :)

@connections@tacobelllabs.net Does it operate without all the cabinets at a lower capacity or do you need all of those to turn it on?

@audrinabell You might want to cite this from the far away land of 2023.

@selectric I have been thinking of making up bingo cards for the buzzwords people use in public transit board presentations.
Data Driven with bonus points if the head of transit police uses it without presenting any data on response times or outcomes.

If this bothers people here feel free to make a public comment in the next MBTA Board Meeting. You can comment in person or in the day or two before via email & voicemail.

@aparrish@friend.camp Ah but that is x86 assembler. There are a lot of other architecures where you are less constrained. PowerPC was nice because you had way more registers and it was 3 address.

@RueNahcMohr@infosec.exchange The long distance microscope I use for my soldering workbench will also measure after you calibrate it for the focal range it's in.
But this looks more automated?

@RueNahcMohr@infosec.exchange Hey 16MHz was fast for the 286. That's the AMD 80C286 right?

@azonenberg@ioc.exchange so my tek 11801C with it's ability to connect to an external sampling head array might present a problem? Oh no wait it's sampling to slow.
Replying to
@azonenberg@ioc.exchange I was trying to make a joke with the 1st part "Oh no wait it's sampling to slow."
But the second part about the thunderscope is cool.

@selectric@tacobelllabs.net but you live in an area with great buses. I was just in Seattle and had fun recording them rolling around.
