If you care at all about whether public bodies, like the NHS, publish the code you paid for, you probably want to take a look at https://keepthingsopen.com

Actually, for #drupalcon this year, I think I’ll carry some fabric plasters in my bag that can be used to cover any lenses, Jack Duckworth style

Right, if anyone asks, Orbán was on for a dead-cert win until JD Vance turned up last week…
😉
Well, I’m sat having a brew*, having spent the weekend rising loads of trails up in the Dales. How’s your weekend going??
* Yorkshire Tea, obviously.

@brucelawson@social.vivaldi.net I now find myself asking if JD Vance and Liz Truss have ever been seen at the same time together. Is it the same person??

@bloor@bloor.tw saves a huge bunch on brake pads, too.
I’m still amazed at my PHEV Golf GTE. It happily knocks out 70 miles on battery and then 60+ mpg on petrol. Well, it does unless I go all a bit silly with it 😉

Wes Streeting has done the most commendable thing he has ever done in politics – resign.

Oh, go on then ☺️
If the high costs I have to pay for electricity keep the AI data centres out of the country, it’s worth every penny! https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2026/apr/09/openai-pulls-out-of-landmark-31bn-uk-investment
Just watched a woman with a double pushchair ramming it through the gap between the wall and a car parked on the pavement.

@an0key @revk @gamingonlinux actually, I have a solution for this - voice recognition - any user overheard repeatedly to be shouting “and you can turn that bloody light off” can be assumed to be a middle-aged bloke
Ah fuck — I’m gonna end up involved with the local Green Party again, aren’t I??
Question: what are all of the websites / apps you can think of that show trails you can ride motorbikes on in the UK? (Regardless of data quality)
A couple to get you started:
1.TRF GRM
2. GLASS TW2
2. stegra.io
No, we’re better off restructuring our country so we don’t use large amounts of oil. All those windmills you don’t like? They’re doing a great job of weening us off the stuff. We need to make more. Many more.

Sad to hear Ted Turner died. Quite apart from creating CNN, he donated a huge amount of money to the UN, via his formation of the UN Foundation, the last time the US Government decided they didn’t want to pay their dues.
If only we had people like him standing up these days?

@xurizaemon@toot.cafe based on experience of interaction both with and as a bridged account, I disagree.
Right, how do we get @zackpolanski.bsky.social to follow @ap.brid.gy and, therefore, make it possible for anyone on the reverse to interact with him?
Same goes for any #GreenParty accounts on BlueSky.

To be honest, Pete Hegseth is probably about right that Operation Epic Fury “decimated” Iran’s military.
Being somewhat lacking in education, though, he seems unaware that “decimated” actually means only a 10% reduction in capability.

RE: @drupalassoc@mastodon.social
I am sure the @drupalassoc@mastodon.social belated messaging explaining why they chose to go ahead with yet another DrupalCon NA in the USA after years of pleading not to will come to reassure many. Maybe some will take reassurance that they can go to other, non DrupalCon, events, instead?
Maybe it would have reassured Monique Brooks, a trans woman shot dead in Orlando, Florida. https://tdor.translivesmatter.info/reports/2024/07/19/monique-brooks-jade-monique-thomas_orlando-florida-usa_4a36cf8f

Wes “I’m more important than the fucking King” Streeting.
Hi @tracestrack@en.osm.town - I’m seeing an odd behaviour with Open Street Map that isn’t in the raw data but is appearing on your maps - see OSM note https://www.openstreetmap.org/note/5447464#map=15/52.58034/0.48572 and maybe you have comment?
Ann Widdecombe, Lindsey Graham, AND Ken Bates on the same weekend??? 😆

@TimWardCam given it was something they were already doing, what exactly would be costing more?
