@mattblaze@federate.social Even if I was wanting to visit the US those fees would strike the national parks off my list.

pat your dog?
Collected some property from the police yesterday that was taken in our recent burglary. I'm not holding out hope that any of the other stuff will be recovered. Still, arrests made, alleged offenders on daily reporting and curfew, court appearances in a couple of weeks.
I think largely due to having a camera at face height inside the garage so when the primary scumbag entered the garage I got the best face pic I could have wished for. Especially as he then walked towards the flood light and unplugged it. Obvs, video is saved locally and synced offsite.
Drama at cricket this morning - small fire that looked to be maybe a bonfire in someone's back garden near the park. Firies rocked up and put it out. Then exactly as they finished with that, a house on the other side of the park caught fire. Crew just dashed round the park and started tackling it. Then three more sets of fire crew, big aerial platform thing, police, fire commander all speed here. No ambo though thankfully.
Then 3 news crews. I got interviewed on camera and might be on the news channels tonight lol.
@slevelt@aus.social They used to be a proper country
Yeah, fuck it, I leave this job Thursday. If you ask me an opinion there's no filter. And if you send me "branding guidelines" to manually set my email signature to a complete dog's breakfast of styles/fonts/colours/inconsistencies/broken links/inaccessibility and just all round general unprofessionalism, and ask for feedback, then I've actually got time to give constructive feedback. But man, if your entire job is branding and that's the outcome, sheesh.

@ewen@social.ewenbell.com the banks themselves are bad enough. I've seen a family member be unable to work, or competently manage finances, yet be constantly extended lines of credit without asking and having fees levied on it.
Once she was well again it obviously stressed her out. She managed to get some paperwork together and explain to the bank that they were being dicks. The bank went "yeah, mea culpa, we'll scrub all that, soz, lol". But I bet there's people that aren't able to go that path and get the same result.

@madeindex@mastodon.social D630? We used to dream of having a D630. There was me lugging around my D620 with the extended battery pack.

@ewen@social.ewenbell.com Has it? I never noticed it before a couple of months back.
Mind you, it's rare I have any money to actually send anyone.

@ewen@social.ewenbell.com I think this actually is advertising a Good Thing. When you send money to BSB/acc now they contact the other bank and retrieve the account name there so you can assess if you're sending money where you want to

@frogglin@theblower.au We've some new stations near us as part of a major railway project. Knocked down the new ones, put up the new ones, had a ribbon-cutting ceremony when a train ran, then the construction stopped. No lights, cameras, landscaping etc. Literally just abandoned all the stations in a half-done state once the publicity pics had been done.
Hopefully yours will see some locomotion soon!
