mastodon 4.7.3I boost interesting posts.
I'm interested in information science and mathematics;
Also languages, hiking, handicraft.
I'm sloow: bussiness doesn't like waiting; fast food, short videos,
talk on the go.. I'm out of it.
Hardware.. Why does it make me sick?
Software..Did you mean spyware?
I hate robots. Please have non-empty profile.

I wish I could.
Google is at the foundation of the web;
They developed *javascript* as a web standard to
inject trackers and sell more ads.
Many websites support only chrome.
Cannot get rid of it as even school homework
is only published via google account.

It must be considered bad behavior to post links without particular description, especially ones pointing to big-tech.

Professional enshittifiers 🤔 Well said.
Not the first time g**gle presents amazingly evil almost troll solutions.
For example, made the youtube to load slower based on user agent.
(so firefox looks rendering worse and you cannot easily explain it)
I wonder how do they find the employees to invent such things.

Just right, I hate videos personally: it is heavy, breaks keyword search and version control.
What's even worse, I assume we talk about youtube and tiktok/reels videos.
Ok, maybe I should give up and switch back from #freeBSD to #linux
I own de-facto single laptop and used two EXTERNAL disks to store
files. Just discovered there is no way to unplug zfs disk often,
meanwhile, literally no other file systems compatible with freebsd
(except for fuse implementations which do not seem to work reliably)
I'm at risk of corrupting data and have no time to experiment further.
Well that was interesting and promising at times, but cannot recommend
freebsd on laptop even if it's a thinkpad; well unless you have access to another
computer and decided to challenge yourself.

Most of them (ecosia, startpage, searx, metager, etc.)
proxy google/bing search or both - aka metasearch engines.
Mojeek and brave seem to have own *proprietary* crawlers.
Didn't use Million Short as an offer to create an account makes me scratch my head.
A standalone option is distributed search engine called YaCy, but it's rather
not well packaged for linux.

I know people ask for video calls, but I liked the absense of the feature. It's ok now too.
Multipath routing is a great!

Gem I was missing in epstein saga is the connection to Palantir.
`In a statement, a Palantir spokeswoman said the company “was not aware of Epstein ever investing in or being a shareholder in Palantir.”`
https://www.nytimes.com/2026/02/05/business/epstein-investments-palantir-coinbase-thiel.html
`The Epstein-Thiel business relationship is documented from 2014, when Thiel personally solicited Epstein to invest in Valar Ventures, through to 2019, months before Epstein’s final arrest. `

Android was like never alive in sense of user freedom, the problem is there are no other options by/for vendors.
I guess it will soon become closer to IOS where is no sideloading or anything.
That's fine

There have already been attacks due region-based subscription pricing. Since age verification introduced literally is nothing to stop it from happening.
