@evacide@hachyderm.io I still need to accept, endorse, and deposit checks at my job because old people somehow think they're more secure than a debit card even though they're handing out slips of paper with their name, address, account and routing numbers, and samples of their handwriting on them. 🤷

@foone @whitequark tbf I have a TCL Google TV and it's pretty miserably slow too. Half the streaming apps just genuinely lag and desync and jitter all the time while playing, so it literally can't even handle the one thing it was built to do.

@JulianOliver@mastodon.social Unfortunately there really is no drop-in for things like local groups that lots of small creatives make a living selling through. Maybe Nextdoor, but that platform has become the domain of obnoxiously nosy people wanting to gossip about neighborhood drama.

@0xabad1dea@infosec.exchange I'm monitoring the situation with great concern but at this point if Discord asks my ID I'll probably give it to them, because it's where all my friends are and nothing else is even close. Maybe Telegram but it's worse for many reasons.
