linux desktop users, i have some questions, related to "hm, maybe ill reinstall my desktop some day from windows to linux" is there something like nix i can use to declaratively manage everything on the system but with an actually good, usable language that didn't come out of some guy's fever dreams and wasn't made just for nix?is vrchat on linux well supported? what about streaming vrchat on linux to a oculus quest 3 over the network?for applications that can't run on linux at all and need a windows VM, is there good hw accelerated 3d graphics yet that can be passed through to vms while also being used on the host, or is the only option just "pass through the host gpu"? if passthrough is the only option tbh that's a deal breaker, since a few pieces of software I use are windows only and don't run under wine at all (ie. full visual studio, and no, rider and vscode are not what i prefer for this, don't bring it up)

@LunaCOLON3@blahaj.zone 90% of the rest of the software i use is on linux, but the exception is visual studio, and there's really no good, performant alternatives on linux. there's rider, but it chugs on dotnet solutions that are large (~8k classes over 50 projects)

@bagder honestly curl is one of the reasons i actually understand backend web dev today and it's probably the reason i'm even in the software development field now - having an easy-to-use tool to test the terrible backend code i wrote ten years ago in high school that.. wasn't just a web browser (because my laptop at the time was an underpowered piece of shit) made me learning so much easier. so, i hope knowing that there's another person who owes a decent portion their success so far to you and your work brings you more joy ❤️
