Every now and then when I am feeling low on motivation/dopamine, I get reminded of @nova@hachyderm.io and rewatch one of her old livestreams on Twitch.
I am not sure which is more facinating, perhaps its her structured stream, the ambient music or her principles and love towards her projects.
I don't know her personally but for the short time I have started to follow her online during her stream, she has been, and still is, an inspiration.
It saddens me that she was taken from our community too soon.
Dear #fediverse, I've been working on some projects (as a #solodev for the past year and I've always been afraid of sharing them for fear of sounding like a shrill.
I believe in digital and infra sovereignty and I have been building tools around that, but I have been very afraid of sharing my thoughts for fear of criticisms.
I have been feeling torn and stuck because of this.
I would like to ask, is it ok if I start talking about my products and what I have been working on?
What a fascinating read.
Today I've:
- Added a feature to allow users to assign their CDN enabled domain records to specific nodes.
- I've also added support for real-time streaming of `fyra logs` that could be piped to external tools like GoAccess.
Added the ability for users to select their nodes that they wish to serve their domains traffic from.
Added support to retrieve logs in the Combined Log Format on fyra.sh CLI.
Allowing better parsing of the logs with referer and user-agent data.
Added `--output` and format selection to allow users to export their logs to CLF format for further processing (like with GoAccess).
Pretty happy at how `fyra logs` is turning out. Both in the TUI and its functionality.
I can now pull request logs of visitor hits to my deployed sites.
While that sounds simple enough, the sites run behind my own CDN, so capturing accurate visitor logs means interacting directly with the CDN itself. Otherwise, I’d only see requests hitting the origin servers instead of actual client traffic.
I think the wheels are coming off the AI hype train for me.

Wrote what's on my mind, published it.
Following some advice to shut off the computer for a bit to recalibrate from the stress (of writing).
Been working on a personal digital garden with Quartz. I must say I do like that it comes batteries included.
It's allowing me to focus on writing and curating. The default templates are also decent starting points.
Missed yesterday's report.
I've:
- Started preparation to release the fyra-cli source
- Fixed an issue with fyra-cli not self-updating due to a bug retrieving the metadata of the latest fyra-cli version
Added a new section to demonstrate how to use fyra with the various SSGs
Today I've:
- streamline healthchecks for users' byocdn nodes reporting back to our byocdn server.
- users are now able to better set their own healthchecks intervals
- improved ux on byocdn users selecting which nodes covers their cdn-enabled domains.
- users can now make multiple selections and have them update immediately
- worked on some business admin work for fyra.sh
- hoping to see increased traffic soon.
A friend of mine has been inviting me to touch grass and play MTG (Magic The Gathering) with his group at a local TCG shop.
I had been rejecting him for months because of my social anxiety.
I accepted it this time round and I'm so glad I did.
It was so much fun to meet new people again.
To my friend, thank you for not giving up on me.
Brought down one side of my multi-homed AS.
The packets continued to flow.
Good.
Every human network needs a human super node to facilitate communications else the entire network will start to atrophy.
After many years of thinking about it.
I've decided to start building a curated non-algorithmic directory of indie sites that reminds me of a time of more personal web.
And of course its going to be heavily inspired by the old yahoo/lycos directories of the past.
I'm still building caching around it, so it can be quite slow for users outside of Asia, but for now, I'm just building this for myself to share with the world.
Can we have more stories like this.

Been dopamine-deprived for the past few days and it turns out the solution is just playing some good old nostalgic 90s beats to bring me back into the zone.

I'm already in my 40s and its odd how incredibly satisfying it is to hear this again.
As a programmer with (undiagnosed) ADHD, I could see why AI-assisted programming can be super addictive.
There's so much to like about it. Like the quick dopamine hits of seeing results.
But yet at the same time, its absolutely terrifying because when we want to start coding by hand again, our brain has a bigger climb to get started.
We now have to fight ourselves knowing that there's a faster dopamine injection method and then our task initiation dysfunction.
I do not like this.
