@cwebber@social.coop that is pretty crazy. any website a government doesn't like can just be removed from the Internet now apparently, simply by labeling it as terrorist propaganda

@tillybridges@mastodon.social thank you for sharing this info. reading the ruling is sad and infuriating. the sources suck, the logic is flaky, and their terminology and blatant erasing of trans people (and quite obsessively in the ruling: a strong focus on maligning trans women), plus making them all out to be potential criminals... it's garbage (At least two broken source reference links.. gee how did that happen!) they seem overly "concerned" that religious people, who want to discriminate against trans folk, are going to be upset if they (the dept) don't give them the legal blessing to do so all of that "concern" seems entirely propped up on one incident in Alaska where a trans woman was refused entry to a homeless shelter for women, because the people running the place had Religious Beliefs (their god said it was OK to discriminate against trans people)... that's all the housing dept needed to get hysterical about a coming invasion they are absolutely gobbling from the sewage pipe flowing out of the White House with regards to willfully spreading misinformation and hopping on board with the pseudo-science bullshit and rewriting terminology. like they have any actual clue about biology. at least it appears there's a campaign in progress to leave (structured) comments against the ruling.

@purrperl@noc.social @adhdeanasl@beige.party @tillybridges@mastodon.social TL;DR: PURRPERL: APOLOGIZE IMMEDIATELY FOR GROSS PHOTO COMMENT ! purrperl you should be ashamed. now is not the time to play word games with the person you harmed. you are ignoring tillybridge's points. lest you try to play games about context, i am writing specifically about your comments in which you wrote that tillybridges "does not speak for all trans people" and that "some" trans women might like to be objectified regarding your harmful notion that some trans women might like the kind of objectifying comments that you wrote (translation: you made up an excuse to justify harassing women online), tillybridges pointed out that your comment on her photo was NOT OK. I put it in capital letters for emphasis since you want to gloss over tilly's very clear response that she said DONT DO THAT It is time to grow up from this stupid attitude of harassing and bothering trans women because you enjoy it. You must know by now when anyone tells you they feel harassed, bothered, and especially dont want you to write objectifying comments about them (and says dont do that to others) that the correct course of action is to APOLOGIZE and DONT DO IT AGAIN furthermore you must be not only insensitive to issues on transgender people, but you must apparently willfully dont care to show any kindness or understanding to trans people as a whole or on the individual level to say that "one trans person does not speak for all trans people" is subverting tillybridge's lived experiences in order for you to be able to live in denial about the harm of your comments, thus piling on further harm if you cannot WRITE AN APOLOGY to tillybridges , then be prepared for lots of drama and trying to play word games with people who are more informed than you. and be prepared to be left behind and left out of important conversations and meaningful opportunities for connection with people because you cannot accept that you have done harm to people. i hope you lack sufficient attitude of entitlement to resist changing yourself for the better, and that you also decide to grow up. lastly, ⚠️ DONT FUCK WITH TILLYBRIDGES ⚠️

@QueerMatters learning to be vulnerable with people has been a lifelong challenge for me ... i am completely accepting and open to others opening up to me and being "a hot mess" but I have trouble embodying that for myself and letting others in all the while knowing that in "turtle mode", other people are missing out on my inner life

The US FCC is seeking public comments on whether the US TV ratings system should be updated to alert parents that certain TV content has "transgender and gender non-binary programming", and whether the current TV ratings are "appropriate for children and young children"

The public notice can be found here: https://www.federalregister.gov/documents/2026/05/04/2026-08624/fccs-media-bureau-seeks-comment-on-further-empowering-parents-to-protect-their-children-and-make#addresses

The kind of language they are using frames trans people and gender diversity as things that parents might want to "protect" their children from, and uses careful choice of words to make the issue seem about "empowering parents"; these kind of words (empower, protect) are always used as feel-good words to mask discriminatory intent.

We don't need to update the TV ratings system; children easily understand trans-ness.

-> Comment period is open until May, 22, 2026

-> Public comments on this issue can be filed here: https://www.fcc.gov/ecfs/search/docket-detail/19-41

-> The "Express Filing" option will give you a text box to type in after you put your contact details.

we #trans and gender #nonbinary people are not threats to be identified, scrutinized, nor managed.
