My own emptiness is filled with your hate. Choose wisely.

Everything critic. In the repressed and oppressed I place my trust.

Will respond to aggression with an equally sharp force.

No one is equal until we make it so.

Hope for the best, prepare for the worst.

I still don't get how the whole injecting cis men with extra testosterone regardless of endocrine balance doesn't bring about thoughts of gender affirming care to conservatives in the US. If your supposedly god given gender and sex are imperfect, and you choose to manipulate it, even in pursuit of a "more manly" physique, is that not making your own gender choice? If you make that choice, you're still broadly cis, but you've fundamentally changed your expression in most cases. In that case, if the whole hormonal boosters idea took effect, you've created a "hypermale" or "alpha male" or whatever as a new identity and expression. Congratulations, conservatives, you've created your own gender. Your inflamed thyroid and shrinking testicles applaud you. You didn't even have to medically alter yourself to reach a "more male" conclusion, yet you felt better by pursuing that. The level of hypocrisy and selfishness exhibited by bigots is lost upon them, but not upon the subjects of their "adoration". We all will remember, and one day, the decedents of bigots will feel the shame of their elders' actions. #Trans #Transgender #Queer #LGBTQIA2S #TwoSpirit #EnBy #NonBinary #GenderAffirmingCare #TransRightsAreHumanRights

@DoomsdaysCW@kolektiva.social Many of the stories and predictions for a cleaner future involve "replacing" the old, oil-tied machines and mechanics of the present with more independent energies of what hopefully will be the future, and really should have been the present.

I find this notion a bit disheartening, since it implies the old machines can't be remade or modified. Not everything is an Apple product. I prefer "retrofit" to "replacement", but is that wrong?

If your platform(s) openly allows blatant propaganda and misinformation, whether by private party or otherwise, your platform is a threat to everyone, not a service.

Google is a threat, an existential threat, and nothing but a threat.

When you realize that you have talents, skills, or even just a knack for something random, but don't have a "job market" for that, you realize that society has already failed you. Nothing is useless.

Trans people are apparently terrorists in the US. This implies that we are expected to do "terrorist stuff". Let's do very kind terrorist stuff, then.

@mason@partychickens.net Yeah, moving the goalposts isn't a good metric for how an LLM manipulates people. They don't standardize tests, or criteria, so nothing can be trusted. Still evil. @ai6yr@m.ai6yr.org

If you intentionally target an already disadvantaged population, excluding nuance, adjacent populations and examples, and repeatedly state correctness in the process, you're not making a factual claim or a empirical follow up to a real argument or line of reasoning, then it is evident that you are participating in bigotry.

for example: "crime rates in Black and Mexican neighborhoods are higher than many other places..."

missing nuance: "...because they are subjected to aggressive zoning tactics, 'poor taxes', decreased humanitarian aid, and institutional racism.."

evidence: "...places like Detroit restrict the amount of economic and social force you can exert through strict definitions what what a yard, house, and building can and can't be, and in order to overcome this definition, you have to push through the city's councils and legislators, instead of asking your neighbors."

Partially claiming a fact without nuance is a logical and journalistic crime, and should be treated as such. It just so happens that much of corporate social media and journalism thrives off of this content.

@david_chisnall LLM's insist that everything be done with excessive redundancy because "that's safe" for all contexts. But of course, it isn't and is like you said, just a waste of processing resources. That's not even to mention microhallucinations that are hard to spot out of the swaths of generic code, especially in embedded devices where optimization can often take you down to assembly level. Just taking a few hours to do the thinking yourself yields a vastly superior result, especially where computing power is limited. I'd hope FOSS/FLOSS code checkers and dynamic analysis tools continue to grow, but I fear that all this hype will reduce interest in vetted and reliable tools, since it isn't cool to be consistent anymore. All in all, this, along with all the other things AI "isn't replacing" follows the business model of thinking as a service. it is the end goal of AI companies to make such a sea of slop that you'll be spending extra just to have humans making essential products.

@kirk I think my electric utility car is bigger than that thing. Certainly heavier. Still, If I had to charge it curbside, a hanging cable would do fine. I am incredibly jealous that NA doesn't get these things.

It's already 92 F in the valleys near Glacier Peak. I have a bad feeling about the fire risk now, there's too many hillbillies with no brains and much oil ready to burn anything they won't dispose of properly.

I'm not even going to use the blowtorch unless absolutely necessary. There isn't enough fire extinguishers in the world for a situation like this.

Bioplastic experiments went better than expected, at 50% w/w glycerine to corn starch and 15% citric acid the curing scheme I have yeilds a hard, crumbly plastic on top and a gradient of curing progress underneath. This is expected for such high levels of citric acid and lack of vacuum drying. Next is 10% and 5% CA.

@MrAptronym @EricFielding @FluentInFinance The liquid electrolyte is comprised of salts of usually highly reactive metals, rarely more exotic compounds and an organic solvent. The organic solvent itself is no harder to put out than any other organic chemical, it is just extremely hot. Putting out a pentane or xylene fire isn't that difficult with a proper extinguisher and a respirator, compared to alkali metal fires, where they just keep burning not matter what until you completely choke them out. Solid state electrolytes eliminate the organic electrolyte, but usually still have regular failure modes, including reactions with the atmosphere. They can get hotter before thermal runaway, but thermal runaway will release more heat locally. There isn't a flame to put out, but that doesn't matter because it will still get hot enough to release toxic gasses and vaporize plastic housings, then leading to fire. Overall, the flame moves from the electrolyte to the anode and cathode, which are likely to get bigger with solid state batteries. It doesn't solve battery fires, just changes them. Don't challenge charge rates, play it safe, no matter the cell.
