@Rusty @odoben I use git branches and merges to separate dot files for separate platforms. Start with a common empty parent commit so merges work. Then I have branches for each tool - base/zsh, base/vim etc. Then for platforms, branches like mix/work/laptop, mix/home etc. If something is specific to a platform, I commit it there. Otherwise it goes on the base branch and is merged in. Have done this for quite some years and it works well.

@soller In my job, LLM use is banned because the software and data is covered by an NDA and export controls. Could use a local LLM but my workstation is too old and short of memory. And I wouldn't want it anyway. But if I need to search for a new job at any point, my lack of experience with AI may be a problem.

@jezebelkat@famichiki.jp @xssfox@cloudisland.nz I'm also an IT professional and I've never had a yubi key. For work use, I don't get anything my employer isn't providing. Using good passwords is plenty secure enough. I use self hosted vaultwarden but avoid passkeys - unlike a password, they don't give you the option of memorising credentials or typing them in.
