In other news, murdersailors aboard one of our murdersubmarines today sank an Iranian murdership, murdering 150 of their sailors.”
Hegseth then pumped the air with his fists, shouting "Woo-hoo!" and “Murder rocks!”

Christian fundamentalists: We believe Jews will all go to Hell, but we need some Jews to live in Israel in order to fulfill our prophecy.
This administration: We believe Jews aren't human, but we need some Jews to live in Israel to keep the Muslims down, and also to give us a pretext for punishing our political opponents at home.
The similarity between these viewpoints is not coincidental.
Pretty obviously, no one wants to open the box to find out if Mitch McConnell is alive or dead, so he will remain permanently in a superimposed state in which he is both alive and dead at the same time.
Call it quantum physics, call it black magic, but it’s firmly on-brand for him.

It's not unreasonable to think that harming the United States might be the point.
The Trump administration has done so much damage to the United States in such a short time that it's increasingly hard to explain it in terms merely of self-interest, incompetence or conservative ideology, and increasingly believable that it is, in fact, deliberate sabotage.
