I'm not a particularly hard person to find online. I'm on Diaspora (maybe haven't logged in in a while), pump.io (maybe haven't logged in in a while), soundcloud, libre.fm, last.fm, ccMixter, and tons of other places.

My dog's name is T'Challa. He is joined a family of cats, is black (mostly), and is African (not completely, he's a mutt).

@sknob@mamot.fr @mirlo@musician.social @jamcoop@mastodon.social I should probably note for folks that dont consider themselves a #netlabel that the official Netlabel Day definition of a label is someone that releases music. A netlabel is someone that releases #netnativemusic which largely is under Creative Commons licenses but there are other sorts of licenses out there. And you dont need to release everything under CC. @blocsonic@mastodon.social is always involved in Netlabel Day, but we've had a few commercial releases over the years.

RE: @lorenzosmusic@mastodon.social

As people that have been paying attention to me know I have been involved in music events since 2000.

Super hoping @tmray@mastodon.social can get this off the ground, and ready to provide whatever resources we can through @friendsofccmusic@mastodon.world

At some point, more info will be coming on the website!

it's official. I am going to #Tokyo #Japan in January 2027!

Lots of things to do like get hotels and a return flight, but my wife has both legs booked and I have a flight there. Vacation still needs to be approved too, but that does not seem like a huge obstacle.

We are probably not going to Kyoto, Nara, Osaka, but probably will go see Mt. Fuji. Any suggestions in that general radius around Tokyo are very welcome! We will go back to see the other cities in the future.

@cwebber the data center bubble is clearly dumb, but I think the railroad line might be the most interesting/misleading one on the graph. Or maybe it is the Interstate line that is misleading...or potentially misleading? Idk, no graph is ever going to be perfect, but yeah... anyway... It seems to equate rail spending and road spending, but the Interstate system is not the entire federal road system.

@bflipp@vmst.io This may not be the type of job you want, but we deal with tons of stuff in the data space, so it might be something of interest: https://www.thegravityapp.com/shared/job?clientId=8a7883c6611cbac301611eab8b34377a&id=8a78879e86e83775018705a1d1b84de2&u=1698954516&v=9&token=eyJ1aWQiOjE1MDk4LCJwcm92aWRlciI6ImJvdW5jZSIsInR5cGUiOiJlbWFpbCJ9.pW-ofRd0ll2f0_6pPfsTwzP2SsU

Yes, an individual can work with CCHQ by themselves or they can create a new license but without an apparatus to promote such a license it is not likely to gain wide spread adoption. And if you can't come on August 16, again, we can get the conversation started before then. The discussion will be recorded as well and put up on PeerTube. Depending on if I can get my OBS fixed, we might have video...we might not.

Still amazed I got this through marketing: "The proof here is in the pudding, as we humans like to say."

RE: @musicman@mastodon.social

Soooooo, sounds like we *may* go to #Kyoto as well. Is overcrowding a problem in January?

Aside from the standard "dont be an asshole," anything we can do to make sure we aren't part of the problem?

I will send a reminder in the Discord about tomorrow. @Cheesetruck@mastodon.social is in the fediverse as well. I think this link will get you directly in the Discord for the next 30 days if you are into that sort of thing: https://discord.gg/sVCDKgTnQ And by "you" I mean literally anyone reading this.

@uint8_t@chaos.social @Dio9sys@haunted.computer oh, this is way too complicated, but corvée was a common practice in ancient Egypt. I don't think anyone has ever tried to prove that it wasn't used to build the pyramids. But certainly skilled workers were also used, and they may not have wanted to chattle slaves to build the pyramids, just you know good old forced peasant labor.
