Great post by @norootcause@hachyderm.io with a succinct description of the concept of Safety II. I only read Hollnagel's book last year after having known about it for probably a decade. And I can absolutely second Lorin's point about it being very well written and approachable and still very worth checking out. The discussion in the book is as relevant today as it was in 2014.
10 months into this Liquid Glass wild ride and I still get these kind of artifacts daily that cover part of the UI I'm actually interacting with. This is Safari but I most often get it in the mail and music app.
Maybe someone can divert some of that AI money to fund building a UI that doesn't behave like the operating system has an existential crisis 12 times a day

Randomly stumbled upon an interview in the newspaper about quantum communication with Stephanie Wehner (https://ocw.tudelft.nl/teachers/stephanie-wehner/) and it immediately teleported me back to WTH2005 where I was mind blown by her introduction to quantum cryptography talk
And now I have all the simultaneous feels of nostalgia, how small the internet can sometimes feel, and how awesome it is that this person who I saw giving a talk 20 years ago is now an award winning scientist being interviewed in a regular newspaper
