@nwbt@social.nearerandfarther.com although (yes I agree with the general sentiment, to a degree) there is quite an active #gardening community whose members would probably deliver an infodump on cucumbers, varieties, history, best soil, etc. Also growing your own food, solarpunk and sustainability

@LillyHerself@mastodon.social whenever I get to surf the interwebs without adblock and pihole, I'm like, wtf
in theory, Trillium is a great tool (and it is).
but I really don't want the hierarchical structure, it's not how my brain and learning and notetaking works. (it will probably appeal to OneNote users, though).

Meine Fresse.
Hmmmmmmm.

@Susan60@aus.social I have been listening to the audio books for quite some time and I loved the matter-of-factly dry way Howey describes the silo and its world, it is like you are drawn into it passing by, literally, very good and consistent world-building.
the TV show is entirely different, more drama, of course.
I watched the first 2 seasons and liked them but had some issues. started watching s3 and I am all like WTF. not sure I can do that. lesigh.

@ShaulaEvans used to be. would do again. English to German. mostly nonfiction, some fiction, science-y, tech. medicine. but open for everything else. learning new stuff is part of the appeal
"the internet never forgets, you can find everything everywhere all at once", or so people thought.
those of us who have been on the interwebs before the year 2000 know differently. stuff vanishes, gets deleted, is made inaccessible. the current US administration is a stark reminder of that.
pull your data from the cloud, mirror and save stuff you value. save your contacts away from Apple and Google. this is not a drill.
Mark Addy, der in Good Omens sagt, "I used to work the Monty", ist ja schon nice
(Tennant sowieso superb)

Fast meinen Kaffee wieder ausgespuckt.
