I've never used #OpenBSD's rdomain(4) feature in anger before but I just configured it to ensure all traffic from a specific VLAN exits via a WireGuard tunnel. It's a really elegant solution and foolproof for those cases where you don't ever want traffic exiting via any other route (eg, if the tunnel interface is destroyed).

Not the same as my setup but @solene@bsd.network has a useful guide - https://dataswamp.org/~solene/2021-10-09-openbsd-wireguard-exit.html

Just another geek of the software development variety. Fan of open source operating systems (primarily Debian GNU/Linux, OpenBSD, FreeBSD, NetBSD), over-engineered self hosting, homelabs, retro gaming, and home automation. Collector of vintage Unix workstations and servers, primarily from the Unix Wars period.
Taking a very long break from social media so mostly read-only at the moment, but that may change at some point...

@tinker@infosec.exchange :) No, systemd is not a thing on any of the BSDs nor will it ever be due to the Linux-isms it contains. bash is available on #OpenBSD, just not part of the base system.
FWIW, the "OpenBSD Handbook" is not a recommended resource, it contains mistakes and is very possibly LLM-generated. Use the official documentation and manpages for reference (the latter are available online if you don't yet have a system).

@stefano@mastodon.bsd.cafe Great combo, I miss the Usenet of yore. I was always more of a tin user than an slrn user though...
FWIW, one of my favourite online moments was when @SteveBellovin@infosec.exchange replied to a post of mine on one of the NetBSD mailing lists.

Today's PSA: #XFS v4 filesystems are not supported by #Debian kernel packages 6.18.5 and later so older systems may run into issues. I have a created-in-2011 snowflake VM running -testing that was bitten by this a few months back.
For users using stable this will only be an issue with the upgrade to forky (Debian 14), but it's a bit nasty.

@codinghorror@infosec.exchange Hmm, for the first pretty much any track from The Crystal Method's "Vegas" (an almost perfect album if you like late 90's big beat). For the latter, "All I Need" by Air.

@codinghorror@infosec.exchange Haha! As long as our first dance isn't to "Closer", might horrify some wedding guests.
