Weirdo, appreciator of large furry men. Indie gamedev and horrible webdev.

It's the job of the ethical dev to make ethical software preferable, so let's learn about accessibility and UX together!

Currently developing #Chainrenders, a Sokoban-like puzzle game about lost memories and mysterious hostilities!

Did you know?

You do NOT need #Steam to make Windows games run on GNU/Linux: Steam itself uses #Proton, which is also available on the libre #HeroicGamesLauncher, which will aggregate your games from #GOG, #EpicGames and #AmazonPrimeGames all in one place!

https://heroicgameslauncher.com/

GOG sells games without the anti-consumer DRM that characterises Steam! So cool!

@thomasfuchs @Felis_Catus_Domesticus Not only does Apple forbid any non-webkit browser engine on their walled platform and refuse to implement core web APIs on webkit for as long as possible, it's hostile to the rest of the open web even outside iOS: https://infrequently.org/2025/09/apples-crimes-against-the-internet-community/

Apple's Assault on Standards - Infrequently Noted

By subverting the voluntary nature of open standards, Apple has defanged them as tools that users can employ against the totalising power of native apps in their digital lives. This high-modernist approach is antithetical to the foundational commitments of internet standards bodies and, over time, erode them.

A job working 11-hour-long nights as a motel concierge for 1.3k euros a month is perfectly humane and very good, right? Anyone would accept a job like this, right?

Weird questions maybe, but, how do people feel about UML? Do you like having made diagrams before beginning to code? Do you plan and document before coding? If you don't like UML but you like engineering first and planning ahead, how do you document what you design?

I do like UML, but I wonder if it's because it's the only way I know to document software design.

@thomasjwebb @tilton Sorry if this is off-topic, but you just reminded me of something I need to get off my chest. Developer self-obsession is something I've been encountering in the wild since I decided to go full AGPL with everything and it's so frustrating. "Copyleft stifles other devs, use MIT!" My dear, you're not who I'm trying to help, I want my software to serve *end users!* And I'm trying to protect my end users *from other devs,* no less!

#AskMastodon

Have you used #raylib to develop games in C? What was your experience? What debugger(s) or IDE(s) did you use with it (especially if you're using GNU/Linux)?

@mathew@universeodon.com @thomasfuchs@hachyderm.io @Felis_Catus_Domesticus@mstdn.party I understand that, but the Apple Store receives over a thousand new apps every day since about 2021, now with vibe coding in the mix, and those apps get to use these admittedly dangerous APIs. Isn't the sandboxing of a web browser, with the open-source-by-default of JS, comparatively safer than Apple's obscured proprietary corporate platform? Not to mention the rent-seeking of the App Store and platform competition by API access.
