Very excited/nervous about my virtual talk about India Street Lettering https://indiastreetlettering.com/ for Type Director’s Club tomorrow https://tdc.org/event/india-street-lettering-building-missing-archives/
Please join us if you’re free (:
@ninastoessinger will do a live raffle at the end of the talk, and one lucky attendee will get a free copy of my book!
Last year I made a zine ☠️ DEAD LETTERS ☠️ about about the beautiful and unexpected letterforms on gravestones in India, featuring photographs from the South Park Street Cemetery (Kolkata), Nicholson Cemetery (New Delhi) and Nishatganj Cemetery (Lucknow) https://indiastreetlettering.com/zines/
Those of you who supported the Kickstarter campaign for India Street Lettering would have received a copy as a reward, but the zine is now available for purchase.

P. S. The zine uses @daytonamess@typo.social’s new typeface Dargon, which I was lucky to have access to pre-release!
Any London folks here?
I will be in your city this Friday (June 12) to speak at Type&Faces https://www.typeandfaces.com/ about my book India Street Lettering https://indiastreetlettering.com/india-street-lettering-a-journey-through-typographic-craft-culture/.
Get a ticket https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/typefaces-june-tickets-1990449021605 to hear me and other speakers, and come say hi 👋🏽
Are folks still using Flickr? Is it a nice place to be in — no algorithms, no AI slop? Would you recommend it?
Thinking of reviving my long dead account 🤔
(Boost for reach, please)
