Got to catch up with @jeffjarvis@mastodon.social last week and, per usual, he had clear and pointed comments like "Mass media is dying and human media is replacing it." Which is of course why the fediverse and open social platforms are so critical. Was a fun conversation, thanks Jeff for making the time!
I'm going to start evangelizing that publishers and journalists display Mastodon and/or Bluesky links on all of their pages and invest in those communities. They need to be doubling down in places where their connection with their audience is genuine and sustainable. I'm so tired of seeing media outlets continue to support social networks that do nothing but destroy journalism!
Ukraine is setting a new standard for diplomacy, defense and leadership. I follow their progress every day in a video feed curated by @mike@flipboard.social.

It would be great to have more people building their networks on Mastodon and Bluesky (instead of more walled gardens). But I thought this was well said re: owning your relationships.
