The GDPR is a really good law that the EU can be very proud of. The proposed changes only water it down and reduce the protection of citizens.

@bsi@social.bund.de Danke für die Anleitung. Zu Punkt 3.5.1 "Nicht berücksichtigte Konfigurationsoptionen" Option ResidentKeyRequirement: Das ist meiner Meinung nach schon eine sehr wichtige Option. Wenn man einen Hardware-FIDO-Schlüssel verwendet, dann ist man dankbar für nicht-resident keys, weil man unbegrenzt viele davon auf einem Schlüssel haben kann. Wir wollen ja, dass mehr Webseiten Passkeys verwenden. Aber wenn dann der Speicherplatz auf dem FIDO-Schlüssel voll ist, dann ist das echt doof.

I think that this type of citizen involvement is meaningful and should be continued. 150 people is not much compared to the overall population of the EU, but you've got to start somewhere. @bsi@social.bund.de Rein sicherheitstechnisch habt ihr recht. In der Praxis führen resident keys leider dazu, dass ich mich gegen Passkeys entscheiden muss. Beispiel: Die Foren-Software Discourse unterstützt ausschließlich resident Passkeys. Wenn ich jetzt bei jedem interessanten Discourse-Forum einen key-slot verbrauche, dann ist mein Schlüsselspeicher schnell voll. Das Problem ist imho mangelnde Awareness bezüglich non-resident keys. Daher ist es mir wichtig, mich zu Wort zu melden. #fido2securitykeys
