I feel that I'm continuing the way – today I received my utterly beautiful embroidered linen blouses, sighed heavenly and instantly redid buttonholes for one, because something was wrong with the original thread tensions and they wouldn't hold. #sewing
Oh no, perl's Tk has broken on me again 😱
I really hoped that #LinuxJourney will absolve me from mysteriously uninstallable perl dependencies, but nooooo.
Bless past me who made a virtual machine for that one tool that I need and that depends on Tk. Went to check, what is the config there... same Tk, older perl. So, lets try perlbrew.
If I'm a smart person, I'll never again plan sewing any larger black project in the winter, when there is very little natural light available to me. Only time will tell, if l'm a smart person.
I also recently have learned that I find it easier to handstitch things I can barely see than machinestitch. Might be partially related to lighting conditions I have, but I doubt it's the only thing.

Lietot iestādes attiecīgo epasta sistēmu esot obligāti, bet (1) es netieku iekšā, jo tā domā, ka manam mūžvecajam kontam, ko nesen pārtaisīja par darbinieka kontu, ir uzstādīts 2FA, lai gan nav, un (2) tiek prasīts uz telefona vai planšetes likt Microsoft Autenthicator vai Google Authenticator. Nē, nu, ja viņi man iedos planšeti, labi, bet tā citādi tas ir par daudz prasīts darbiniekam ar 6 stundu slodzi nedēļā.
Tiku galā ar gandrīz visu izmazgāto veļu. Datoru pārinstalēt vēl aizvien nav laika.

I've been using YNAB (You Need a Budget) for 12 years. Their general budgeting method works for me very, very well. But their recent TOS change is again about giving my data to third parties, and their app is always on the top of my e/OS/ "this week trackers blocked" list... what are my alternatives except coding myself and excel-like?

After almost a weak of #CatDuty in the situation where one cat is anxy and clearly wanting attention yet being unable to just calmly recieve it and others might feel underappreciated and reserved due to the extra attention given the anxy cat... I reflexively petted my friend's cat Pūka (completely unrelated to Duty cats) almost aggressively just because she came to sit by me. For several seconds Pūka was very "da faq, hooman?" and then she ran away. Ops.
Will see how it goes next week but so far it seems that by far the biggest problem in my Linux journey will be hibernation. Not only that it seems to be rather complex setup (e.g., I found this for my Mint https://github.com/linuxmint/linuxmint/issues/852), but that hibernation is done in swap file/partition, so there is no way to guarantee that it will not fail became swap was too full.

Yesterday's #CatDuty: Bella found a beetle. I sat in the sofa and worked on publication. After two or thre small cat communication murrkshh sounds is stretched to look what is going on. My first thoughts that I can't possibly be fast enough to intervene – either Bella will kill it, or it wil on fly away, or it will run under some furniture and hide. AFAIK beatles around here are dangerous to cats, but maybe, just maybe it can pinch her and scare her a bit. I returned to work with one eye open.

Can't promise that I'll agree to everything in it, but... The fact that as a kid I knew tucows, pre-user-bubble google, pre-algorithmic social feeds, cousin's pirated movie collection, good old "Everything is a Remix"... It really has changed me.
