@koherecoWatchdog@freeradical.zone
mastodon 4.7.3I oppose binary gender divisions in sports & advocate all inclusive testosterone level divisions instead. This idea has been censored as: “#transphobia”.
Consequently, I no longer post publicly from #freeradical.zone.

@cnx@larkspur.one @48kRAM@oldbytes.space you forgot: scramble to mute the sound, fight with a CAPTCHA, enable some 3rd party js…reload…enable more js…reload…repeat until you have something, untick 20+ categories of “legitimate interest” cookies, give up & find a copy of the page in archive.org which runs /all/ the 3rd party js anyway— only to discover they purposely blocked the wayback machine.

@mav@hackers.town @c_9@mstdn.ca @CelloMomOnCars@mastodon.social I don’t know much about how Canada is now, but the top priority for all cities in the world should be cycling infrastructure. Public transport is 2nd to that. Cars should be mostly taxed off the road.

@SteveBellovin@mastodon.lawprofs.org @kona@social.ridetrans.it @c_9@mstdn.ca Those lights should really be timed for cycling speeds. #fuckCars, we should be catering for cyclists. /cc @Brian_Mahoney@mas.to

@opethminded@mstdn.social @c_9@mstdn.ca The environmental discussion is a double-edged sword. A system that’s convenient for car drivers minimizes GHG emissions. But OTOH, people are driving cars for convenience. So the more inconvenient you make car driving, the better chance at getting them out of cars. IMO the system should reward cyclists the most precisely b/c they have zero emissions. Maximize greens to cyclists.

Along those lines, I doubt I would do much more snooping than needed but if I noticed an #AmEx, #visa, or #mastercard it would feel like I’m going against my boycott of those companies to give those back.
AmEx is an #ALEC member thus helps push rt wing lobbying & policy. Visa & Mastercard are both very actively involved on the wrong side of the #warOnCash.

@pjakobs@mastodon.green @48kRAM@oldbytes.space @ksbex@infosec.exchange I used to have a plugin w/a hotkey that would launch the page in #lynx. A lot of shenanigans can be circumvented that way. IIRC, I lost that pluging b/c of #Mozilla shenanigans. Mozilla pushed a protectionist policy at some point & started controlling what extensions you can use. That may be when the /launch in lynx/ add-on was lost.

@derivadow@mastodon.me.uk @c_9@mstdn.ca Hopefully Portugal’s system smart enough to green light a cyclist. In fact, a smart design would be to give a green to cyclists in all cases where a cyclist is going one direction and only cars in the other direction regardless of cars speeds. #fuckCars /cc @asinhorror@opalstack.social

@CelloMomOnCars@mastodon.social @c_9@mstdn.ca I would have agreed w/you 20+ years ago, but now that #climateAction is needed, we should be fining car drivers at every opportunity as much as possible. Car drivers lose their privacy in a variety of ways, and this is good b/c it’s yet another incentive to cycle. #fuckCars

i suppose the mass could not be measured realtime on the road because then you’d have to deduct the weight of the human payload (or face lawsuits for discriminating against fat people).

How would the mass be measured? The traffic light would know the mass, or it would be a governor that’s installed by motor vehicle departments?
I suppose it could read the license plate & lookup the model specs from there. Although some states don’t require front plates, so the device would have to work from behind cars.

@derivadow@mastodon.me.uk No doubt.. the reason for speeding is to get there quicker. They’ve designed it so getting there quicker requires a slower speed. The only speeders would have to be either uninformed about the system, or just incompetent.
Replying to
@derivadow@mastodon.me.uk Or the fun of speeding to trigger red lights for others just before making a right turn & avoiding the light :)

@stuckinohio@mastodon.social @c_9@mstdn.ca The school zones are typically only active during certain hours when the kids are out. If the lights are not flashing, that means the school zone is not in effect & you can drive the speed limit of that street.
