Discoverability of small open source software always was a problem. But #AI made this so much worse. Nobody seems to have a look what others already built, and instead fires up a new project.
Case in point: There are at least 5 different projects on GitHub to query Bosch heat pumps from #HomeAssistant via Bosch PoinTT API. All have almost exactly the same feature set - and partly even the same open issues. None of the code and maintenance effort is shared, though.

@msquare@chaos.social Boah, also knapp 6mm Kantenlänge wären mir zu viel Aufwand. Und ich hätte auch kein Messer das scharf genug ist, die Eierschale so genau zu schneiden, fürchte ich.
Passend zum langen Wochenende ist in der Nacht auf gestern unser Internetanschluss ausgefallen. #DSL synchronisiert noch, aber PPPoE läuft ins Timeout.
Heute Morgen dann endlich bei #LWLcom angerufen. Die können natürlich selbst nichts machen und melden sich wenn sie was bei der #Telekom erreichen konnten.
Das ganze ist besonders ärgerlich, weil wir jetzt die ganzen Dienste im #SelfHosting nicht mehr erreichen können. 🙄
Bin unschlüssig, ob es an nen Tag im #HomeOffice besser gewesen wäre. 😬

@blinry How does this argument not exclude *any* contributions by someone else than you? Because if I wrote something by hand (which is the only way I write anything), you wouldn't have worked through the problem either - I would've. Is it important that I am proud of the result, too?
It's a good argument for you not using LLMs yourself (and probably one of the reasons I'm not using them), but I don't see how this applies to contributions by others.

You can try to "Reconfigure" the old device from its menu in the Devices & Integrations page and enter its new IP address. (Sorry if those are not the exact wordings, I'm using a translation)

Docsets verschiedenster Themen (von Python Docs bis Apache Config), die man dann in Anwendungen wie Zeal laden kann. Bin ich großer Fan von, da die Suche damit unschlagbar schnell ist.
