Netgear got the FCC exemption so did they agree to install spyware, pay a bribe, or both?

If the Artemis mission has you wanting to read some space scifi, really can't recommend Becky Chambers' To Be Taught If Fortunate enough.
#Introduction I finally moved instances from when I signed up for mastodon in 2018. tldr.nettime feels like a better fit.
I'm Jeremiah, I did my undergrad in theatre and worked professionally for a while as a stage technician and designer before going on a hiatus. While I wouldn't say I'm back from the hiatus, I did design one show in 2022 breaking my almost five year absence.
Since leaving the stage, I've pursued my interest in technology as critic, hobbyist, and professional.
Hoping to show this slice of the internet some experiments and find interesting people to discuss technology and our present moment with.
#Pittsburgh is there any computer hardware store closer than the microcenter two hours away?
I've got a repairable hot end assembly I just pulled out of an A1 mini. If anyone wants one of these to use/repair. I will ship at no cost to you.
Truth be told, it might still actually work it just got the usually terminal glob of death and I ordered a replacement (and then a spare in case this happens again).
Haven't got much use for a working assembly, a new spare, and a possibly still working but in need of maintenance spare. I would much rather this sit on someone's bench than in my drawer.
What is it called when you read too deeply into the documentation and you start asking questions around limits/edge cases and then people treat you like you're an idiot and start explaining the fundamental pieces of the discussion.
I did get some valuable information out of this but there were many parts that felt like, "yes, I know this."
PSA for folks who might encounter people using those 24/7 glucose monitors.
I don't know much about diabetes and constant monitoring. Up until yesterday I have been fortunate enough to only need to know about it as something that exists in the world but I had no concrete experience with it.
I'm recovering from a cold but I mustered up the energy to take the dog for a walk. I leave my house and I see my 75 year old neighbor standing outside and he says he's about to call me.
I ask what's wrong and he tells me that his glucose monitor is reading 50 and giving him an alert. He informs me it shouldn't drop below 70 and he doesn't know what to do.
I know very little but I'm worried he can pass out so I convince him to go sit on his patio furniture and let our dogs run around together.
I search for an authoritative source (present search engine quality makes this harder), but I find the American Heart Association and I pick up their advice and have him eat a tablespoon of honey. This comes out of the 15 grams of fast carbs over 15 minutes to try and stabilize blood sugar.
While we're waiting the application isn't really moving and he's scared. I text my friend whose father-in-law is elderly and also diabetic.
While waiting for some advice and, as a precaution, my neighbor asks me to dial 911 and they ask if the person in need of medical attention is coherent.
J is as coherent as ever, so I hand him the phone. There's some back and forth and transfers and he answers no to a series of questions about symptoms. So, they tell him that they're kind of busy so eat a slice of bread and wait to see if it improves.
