@farooqkz@mastodon.bsd.cafe Interesting post, I'm also into "residential style development". Smalltalk is probably the biggest environment that embraced this. I've also seen it re-emerge somewhat in the Unison programming language As for your scripting needs, nushell has served me well, much less painful to work with than POSIX. I don't know if it fits your specific need though

@agowa338@chaos.social @embedding_shapes@mastodon.social yeah, check nix-channels for your user and sudo. You might be running in sudo and that has different nix channels iirc.
If you are up to it you could use flakes which don't use channels
