I heard Reddit is dropping all RSS feeds. That’s a shame! :(

Ok I think I have it mostly figured out now. All my posting (posts, notes, and replies) goes to my website first, then gets syndicated elsewhere — currently only Mastodon. My site remains the authority for the things I post, and it receives backfeeds for interactions that take place elsewhere. I think I’m starting to get the hang of this IndieWeb thing.
You know what that means, right? A blog post (or more!) is brewing…

Signal on-device backups are finally possible on iOS and desktop!
It happened again. A recent update of #Firefox reenabled sponsored stories on the home page. Not cool!
Dear Firefox, please stop messing with my settings. (https://ilye.ss/notes/202609261153/)
If you have a guest book and I haven’t signed it yet, please link it below. I’m in the mood to explore some new personal websites.
I’m kind of jealous of those of you on a #Mastodon instance with #Markdown support. (https://ilye.ss/notes/202609262230/)
Fellow bloggers, what are your favorite webrings?
I've been neglecting my Immich server recently. Time to get the updates rolling...
This was a good move!
A message to our new friends:
1. Don’t use your Twitter password for your #mastodon account. Reusing passwords is always a bad idea. A password manager is your friend here.
2. Set up your 2FA. You can do this from the browser or from within the official mobile app under Settings > Account Settings.
